I had an AWESOME run this morning with the pups! I took 1000mg of Glucosamine with dinner last night, and then 400mg of Ibuprofen, both in the hopes that it would help finish healing the bump/lump I got from the idiot skier the other weekend, and man oh man is it working! I did the same with breakfast today after the run since I'm going climbing after work. And it was nice & crisp out too, with just a little frost on the bed cover & hood!
My buddy/former roommate Jenn joined the gym so we can get some climbing done regularly. They even have a roof section too, but no bouldering cave... still, it's great to hang out working routes, etc. I'm so stoked to climb tonight!!!
Brendan, how long of a run do you go on in the morning? Do you measure it out by time, or miles?
Yesterday I ran 2.4miles since I hadn't run in about 2 weeks. This morning was 3.1+. Tomorrow will probably be the 3.8mile route, and with the weather this weekend, I'll start to add in some bike miles before the run, maybe just 4 or 5 miles on the bike first, and then just the 3.1mile route. Once I do that, I'll start timing each part and tracking my times. Then I get all competitive with my own times and start pushing to be faster. At my best, I did a 15 mile bike in 56 minutes and ran 7.1 miles in 54 minutes right after. My goal is to beat those times and then get to a 20/10 workout. Do you run Sheldon? I'd have to wear something over my face in those temps!!
I bet your pumped about going to florida for a few weeks Jim, ya lucky SOB haha.
I actually dont run brendan, and I never have enjoyed running much over 100 meters. I used to do the 100 meter in high school, and I couldnt run any sort of long distance worth a damn.
I have been thinking more and more about getting into it a little bit though. I hate the impact of running, but out here on the gravel, soft dirt roads, and snowy type roads its actually not bad for impact.
Also wouldnt mind getting my pup out on the leash a little more.
