Good -- now you'll have extra, too. Yes, fill the pan back up (about 7 quarts). What pump are you talking about? Just pull the line, and connect the hose to it. When you start the truck it will start pushing the new fluid through. When you see large bubbles (not little ones!), stop, refill, and repeat. I stopped and kept adding fluid when I saw bubbles, but the little ones don't count. I had so much fluid in there it came back out the return port and I made a mess in the driveway.
The write-up is worth the read of course, but it's a very simple procedure.
I was referring to the pump that pushed the fluid through the tranny cooler so it would come out the hose. I may do this tomorrow afternoon if we don't have anyone coming over to shoot off fireworks.
Read the tranny flush link Chris. You will have a lot of fluid in the lines, cooler, pump/tranny even after draining the pan. Flush it good. This is not an area to skimp and I see you have plenty. I used over 20qts. Probably overkill but it sure is pretty on the stick when I check.
thanks for the post in our forum, a heads up is always a good thing. did you get it all abck together yet? how about some videos of the shifts once its up and running

It's up and running, and the shifts do seem better. I bought this thing from a guy that lives 30 miles up the road that's supposed to make the truck better. Comes with a little **** that's supposed to increase power and so on. I'll go see him and pick it up next week, then we'll see how the truck acts. Some guy named Tony
Sounds like someone will be driving the wifes truck more often.
Congrats to her on the new trans and chip..
And good job helping her out with that Chris.
She's got pink all over it. I think she did that to try and keep me away. Of course you'd think by now she would know I really don't care what other people think. The problem I have with her truck is it's missing a pedal. That's too hard to get used to.
I here that I have always preferred hand shakers that is what I really wanted when I bought this truck and the last one all my other trucks were. I have bad knees and the wife was on me saying I needed to start thinking automatic but that was not going to happen till I could not find a hand shaker. I told her the new trucks have cushy hydraulic clutches now not like my old trucks.

OUT-F'ING-STANDING!!!! Which tunes are ya' getting her?
Here's a suggestion on the tranny flush. I put a 1 gallon container in a 5 gallon bucket. Each time the 1 gallon container filled up I added a gallon of atf. The 5 gallon bucket caught the overflow from the 1 gallon container (there is a learning curve). This works best if you drain the pan and add 6 quarts before you start the flush. Like Mike, I went through 20 quarts before I was satisfied with the look of the ATF coming out. Worked for me.
Great job Chris. Have you got any tips for me. I'll be installing mine next weekend.
Watch the video from TransGo. You'll notice he uses a bent paperclip to pull some of the little clips out. Follow Mike's advice and pick up several cans of brake cleaner (I think I used 7) and lay some cardboard down. The guy in the video makes it look like you won't spill any fluid if your careful. The tranny never quits dripping, and the drain pan gets in the way as you're trying to see some of the bolts. I also followed Tracy's advice and only did one VB at a time so I didn't have to worry about the check ***** above the big seperator plate.
Overall I'd say it really is about as easy as the video, just more messy and takes more time.
