If more of the girls out there could have that an attitude like that... I need them to understand that I will spend time with them when I'm finished. And then it will be good quality time. If my project is interrupted, the time I spend with them will not be quality time because I'll be thinking about finishing my project instead.

Yes sometimes his hours worth of projects works out to my benefit, too. For example, my brother asked me the other day if I wanted one of his extra gun cleaning kits. I laughed. I have a built in gun cleaning kit. I bring them home, and hours later, like magic, they are clean.

I will say, however, that sometimes I need his help with something, if even for a few minutes, but I can't get him to budge from whatever it is he is so intent on finishing.

This is cute.

There are two way to look at working out, 1) cardio is going to increase your metabolism at the moment that the work is being done. Once the work is over (moments after the cardio workout has ceased) the increase in metabolism is going to reset back to normal resting/daily metabolism.

2) If you train with weights, and are doing it correctly, you should be getting stronger, thus increasing your muscle mass and an increase in muscle mass is going to require more energy to maintain and you will also need more rest (it's actually the most important part to increasing mucsle mass along with diet). So working out with weights produces a greater/extended opportunity for burning calories, because the greater muscle mass increases your resting metabolic rate. Therefore you can be burning more calories on FTE than you would have had you not been weight trainnig. Weight training also increases bone density, very important as we age, may help you from fracturing a hip.

I'm not knocking cardio, I also do cardio for additional calorie consumption and I is great for the heart.

This is pretty much what I thought too. I usually go for the cardio because that is what gets my heart rate going the best - to burn those calories of course. I have a strong heart and find that some workouts just don't get me sweating like a good run will.

I never learned weight training but is one of those things I want Randy to teach me. I'm not exactly petite, though, and from what I have noticed I bulk muscle easier than most women. I don't want to be a masculine he-she. lol. Probably a typical concern to any women new to weight training though.

You seem to know a lot about this stuff Jason.

Young Chuck, moved to Texas and bought a Donkey from a farmer for
$100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the Donkey the next day. The next
day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the donkey
died.'

Chuck replied,

'Well, then just give me my money back.'

The farmer said,

'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.'

Chuck said,

'Ok, then, just bring me the dead donkey.'

The farmer asked,

'What ya gonna do with him?

Chuck said,

'I'm going to raffle him off.'

The farmer said,

You can't raffle off a dead donkey!'

Chuck said,

'Sure I can....Watch me....I just won't tell anybody he's dead.'

A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, 'What happened with
that dead donkey?'

Chuck said,

'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a
profit of $898.00.'

The farmer said,

'Didn't anyone complain?'

Chuck said,

'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.'

Chuck now works for the government with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

Yep "puffs out chest" I use to be a personal trainer , right after I graduated college, it was mostly partime. But my full time job situation changed and started to do it full time. HA HA it's was tough to make a living, so I changed to contracting. That was back in the mid nineties. Oh those were the days.

Nice! I would've never guessed that. For some reason I was hoping you'd say you were a trainer in the 80's, so that I could rightfully imagine you wearing a bright pink pair of MC Hammer pants...alas..those had pretty much fizzled by the mid-90's. The vision in my mind remains though..

What did you get your degree in?
