Hey, I am 21 now and not that young! Darn you old people always slow! See, what you lose in speed you gain in knowledge and that I respect!
Who said I was slow BOY? Quoted from Doc Holiday in Tombstone "I'm in my Prime" "I have 2 guns......one for the each of ya" And here's another one for you little whippersnappers to think about awhile......."Before you become old & wise, you must first be young & stupid" I'm still stuck on the in-between phase
So I listened to more songs today, and finally listened to "I got the guns" all the way through and it made me cry...actually shed tears. that isn't easy to do my man.
I knew that song would get you.....it does me too. I miss my Grandpa. Glad you like the song.

Dan, I'm glad to hear that he isn't in pain. Really that is the most important part. Life in pain is no life at all. I'm not sure I should say anything, but I can't help myself. If Kriss is hold up at home a lot, encourage her to go see her dad every chance she can get, especially if he is feeling good.
Personally speaking, there was this one night, shortly before my dad died, when he had just come back from his last radiation treatment. I am sure you are familiar with radiation, but essentially, it shrinks the tumors and it makes the person feel really good for a little while. I went with him to his radiation treatments, and that particular day was a very long day. We came home and had dinner and he was chatting up a storm, and in the best mood I had seen him in since he was diagnosed. He was laughing and telling stores and jokes and talking about everything under the sun. I was tired and decided to take off, and he seemed really disappointed when I told him I needed to go home.
I did, and I regret it to this day. I should have stayed there all night and talked to him and listened to what he had to say. He was back to being sick the next day and never really came back after that. Like I said, I kick myself for that and if there is one thing I could do different that is it. I just don't want Kriss to have the same regret.
I thought about you guys a lot the past couple days. I hope you can keep the pain away until the very end and I hope you both make it through this okay.
I am printing this out for Kriss to read.
Very kind of you.
And I feel badly that I forgot to ask about your uncle in the last post.
Has he gone home yet?
Everyone else, thank you for the prayers and well wishes.
Good deal Scott. My 19th anniversary is coming up in November. 1989 was a good year.
Lets see, November 1989...I was seven-years-old.
Happy early anniversary.

As of yesterday he was still there. When we went and saw him Sunday, he was telling us that one of the nurses told him that morning that he still smelled like liquor. At that point he had been in the hospital for 4 days. He did himself a number thats for sure. I am going to make some calls and get an update and make sure he's doin okay before I take off for Iowa tomorrow.
1989 was the year my daughter was born and I had worked at my current job for five years by that then also.
Brendan, I had a 1965 Mustang coupe. It had a CobraJet 302 that my Dad built and it was fun, fun, fun to drive. Blood red with a nice set of Cragers and BFGs on it. Wish I had never sold it.
November 89'.......that brings back some great memories. It was my Senior year in high school. Every weekend we would have Kegger bonfire parties out in the woods. G & R Apetite for Destruction was NEW still and nobody actually thought Axle Rose was a loser yet, and Travis was sportin' a MULLET How's that for a trip down memory lane?
lol. Thanks Chris. Either way, thats a heck of a compliment.
No problem lol
