Sounds very nice and obviously can shoot straight. I use a Savage 308 lever action, nice quick rifle.

I use a 303 british, from around world war 2 (guess I should say i used to use!)

Open sights, scopes are for pansies

10 shot clip bolt action, one of the straightest shootings guns I have ever shot. Amazing how they used to build them so well.

Thats one thing I would like to get into up here, is owning and shooting a handgun. Its pretty tough to go out and shoot one (from what I hear)

I think it would be no problem to get my PAL to have the restricted (r whatever its called) added onto it.

I think having even a .22 handgun would be fun to go shoot a few critters out here!

its not hard to get the restricted permit, but its basically useless to own a handgun in canada. legally, the only place you could use it is at a shooting range. it must be properly stored at all times, (as should any firearm) and you need to get a permit to take it from your permanent address to the appropriate range.

i looked into it when i got my Pal, thought it would be a neat thing to have. its more of a PITA than its worth.

guys years ago i had a carry and conceal permit and i was bonded.
i worked for a parking company in omaha and i did have a lot of money on me at times. and yes i carried a 357 mag. the company didn't like it but they approved it without thinking about it. because it helped make them so much money. it kept me safe!

I have a CCP and do use it all the time. I won't go anywhere without carry that 40 with me. In the past three months it has came in handly twice. Once it stopped a robbery attempt after they knocked me down and then once sitting in the dark in my apartment, it stopped a home intrusion immediately, especially when I told them if they moved, they where shot. I called 911 and told them that if they did not dispatch a vehicle immediately, they might as well send the ME. Both of them then hit the floor begging me not to shoot them. Then just recently, just the threat of telling this idiot that I was armed was enough to make him back down and scurry away with his tail between his legs.

So me, regardless of what mr media tries, with the free criminal enterprize zone that exist, I will carry. The police cannot protect me, my family or my friends, but I sure will. I hope that I never have to pull the trigger, but.....................

Paul, you should go to the thread "looking for a good home defense shotgun" in the general forum and answer the last question that I asked in there!

sounds like you almost have a similar problem as us in canada. i'll just say this. the intruder gets one warning shot... if they persist, i'll be in jail, they'll be pushing daisy's from the bottom side. i'm not a violent or dangerous man by any means, but i will protect that which is rightfully mine!!!

We dont have anywhere near the same problems up here.

Im all in for protecting what is mine, but I am also about not going to jail by doing so. Let someone break in here. I wont shoot em (unless some shots are fired first) but I will whoop their ***, and have the next 25 years of my life jail free!

I would chase guys down, disable their vehicle, do what it takes, but I wouldnt kill anyone (intentionally) thats just asking to go see bubba and have a sore @ss in jail!

my ex-wife one time shot a guy with my pellet gun. she kept hearing strange noises coming from the basement of our house we just moved into.
and a few days later the same noise. so she called me at work,in a panic! i just told her if someone gets in to shoot them! then call the police. sure enough she heard a loud bang, that was the basement door being kicked open. the guy got within 15ft of her and she shot him right in the groin artery just above the guys petter. he left a blood trail all the way back to his house. where police caught him. they arrested the guy and took him the hospital. otherwise he would have bled to death. the police did get the pistol and they did test it. and compared the pellet against the one they got out of the guy. anyway we did get the pellet pistol back. the cop handed it back said it was pretty powerful. the ballistics report said the muzzle velocity was 537ft per second, with a full co2 cartridge. the pellet was a match. my ex-wife was never charged with anything. because it was self defense. in fear of her life inside the home. plus the evidense proved such. plus all the blood on the kitchen floor! and all the way to his house.
well as it turns out there were 3 in the house and he was the first 1 in the kitchen and thats who got hit and they scattered like roaches. the other 2 heard a pop and they ran. and in court we had 8 of our neighbors that had their houses broken into by the same people. and she helped put a stop to it!
