Hey Marty, I`m doing ok, thanks for asking.
I`ve got a 6 ft finish cut mower behind the Ford 800 tractor and a 19.5 hp 46'' inch hydrostatic Poulin for cutting close in around the buildings & trees. The Poulin was a Peavey Mart special blowout last fall for $1,425, a smokin` deal!
Ive been looking at ford 8n's and 9n's but most of them dont come with a live pto, and thats pretty much a must for an actual useable tractor. (The live pto was a very rare option from what i found out, on the older fords)
My case is just taking too long, Ill spend a whole day from sun up, to sun set on it to mow all of our grass. A 6 or 7 foot finishing mower behind the right tractor would probably do most of the yard in a couple of hours, and the rest I could finish up with a push mower, where the big mower wouldnt fit.
Finding a good tractor is tough though, they are either way overpriced, or sell very fast.
Morning David, Sheldon, everyone.
It is hard to find a deal on a smaller acreage tractor, 3 years ago I paid $2,700 for my Ford 800 and have spend some since. It doesn`t have actual live pto but it has a two stage clutch for pto operation. It does make a quicker job of cutting with the 6 ft mower.

That is a great deal Morris.
It always feels good to find the awesome bargains.
If you ever need to chat, I can be a good listener buddy.
I`m down to cutting less than 6 acres on the two yard sites now.
Thanks Marty for the words of comfort, I may take you on on it some day.
The Ford 800 is around the 43-36 hp range if I remember correctly.
Hey Tammie, what`s new?
With a push mower close to an acre is alot to cut, I remember those ''good old days'' Jack. I never did bother to cut in the back of the yard, usually by the time I had the front part by our house done I called it good before getting the bigger tractor mowers.............
