That`s good that the cameras will work up to -40, other wise they wouldn`t be god for our climate.
Thursday is our coldest day then by Sat it`s supposed to warm up to -12°C which will feel like a breath of spring. I really hate it when it`s in the -30`s°C and stays there for weeks.
I'm a bit curious what they'll pick up also, may have to play with these screens a bit to get a decent amount of picture. Think the hardest part will be figuring out how the in house part of the system works.
I ordered another 100' cable for the system. It supports 8 cameras but came with 6, decided at last moment that I would wire it for 8 and have 2 spare cables ready to expand the system. Can hide the extra cables in the eave, I'm running the cable through a conduit to make it easier to route the wiring up to the roof. Would rather have all 8 cables in the conduit than try to get 2 in if I expand the system later. If I don't expand it there'll be $70 worth of cable in the eaves waiting to be used. Lol. Its to cold right now to be messing with drills and saws on a ladder 16' in the air, will warm up by Friday and I'll get a couple of days in on it.
There's been a lot of ladder jokes around here as I never use them for work except to get into a hole or as a plank. The guy with all the ladders around here is Ken the drunken roofer so if he can use one I'm probably screwed as I don't drink. Lol
Good evening John, Perry and all who lurk here.
It is cold but sunny here too.
Since I`m not comfortable with heights I`d probably do better if I did drink.
-20 for a high today, took 3 rounds to get the snow off the walkway. Got to cut a hole in the ceiling so that I could see what I'm drilling into and to make room for running cables, had to take the front off the wood panel box cover. It was only a 3 x 5" hole that needed to be made, will be to easy to put back.
