In your case a group working together seems to be about the only way to clean up the neighbourhood.

 

It's starting to look like theres a couple of issues causing this problem, gentrification caused by the East Village residential development combined with the downtown business and cultural development and the soon to start West Village residential development with City hall and the Main cop shop located in the middle of it all. Nenshi has a housing for all program that includes the habitually homeless drug addict and drunk but he hasn't thought it all the way through, cure the addiction first before you reward them for the lifestyle they live. New Police Chief says the individual communities and their residents are responsible for societal problems, leads to what we call the junkie squad giving the responsible possible community leaders a hard time with the intent of getting us out of certain areas. Add to that, this Luigi Loria ahole that started this problem with me by ripping me off for $3500 in wages and then sicking his junkie henchman Wayne and his friends after me. These guys had free reign over this immediate area for a few years before I showed up and cleaned up this street. Wonder why 2 of my neighbors put offers in on this house when it came up for sale, both have parents that were being victimized by Luigi, Wayne and friends until yours truly showed up. Been learning a lot this last 2 weeks.

We got some more snow today but temps are starting to drop again here..

 

Scraped all the hard pack snow off the street sidewalk today so that it wouldn't freeze up hard and turn slippery when the temp drops. We have to many seniors that need to make it to the mailbox and it encourages them to go out for a walk and stay healthier. Keeps me in better shape over the winter also.

 

Good to keep the paths clear here too Perry, you just never know what walks by...

 

Most of the walk by's in this hood are 5 butts wide.
