Good day folks, it`s windy but the sun is trying to come out.
I put away our BBQ just before we got that dump of snow a couple of weeks ago.
Are you keeping busy Grant?
Good evening everyone, finished sanding the cab today with the 3000 grit and started on the box, will start polishing it to a mirror finish as soon as the box is ready..
Nice day today, hope it lasts a little longer. Got most of my little shed built but got pulled away from it to help doing one of those real simple repairs that takes 2 hours to do as its on a 2014 gmc 1 ton diesel and there is no room for your hands. Damn 10" long hose took 2 hours to take off because of all the crap thats in the way and then has a compression clamp thats impossible to open because the tabs are facing the firewall.
Happy Friday Mornin'all. Yes Morris, Very busy. In this business you are busy when freight is at an abundance, and busy looking for freight when there is none, or the rates are severely depressed. We are suffering the last two. No freight, and the freight that is out there is at a poor rate. Diesel prices are starting to rise, so hopefully the rates follow. I would have thought being close to Christmas, we'd be a lot busier. The whole industry is in the toilet right now. The big companies can afford to drop rates to keep busy. Oh well, We've gone thru this before, but not this severe. Have a great day , and even better weekend guy's.
Good morning folks.
Thing could get nuts in the Bobcat business too Grant. When times were slow the first question asked my rate and when it was busy it was when I was available. Diesel prices haven't gone up here yet so it's time to fill my storage tank. Christmas is usually a busy time for stores, for some it helps to make their year.
This morning was the nicest here for a long time John, plus 4 and no big wind like there was for the last 3-4 days. Yesterday was plus 6, I think that was the warmest since early Oct. Looks like we may finally get Indian summer so harvest can be wrapped up.
My neighbor James, is getting frustrated with companies wanting to pay as low as .42c a k and not wanting to pay if he waits 2 hours + for a trailer to be ready. The other thing that pees him of is going out for what he thinks is going to be 8 days and being away from home for 14 days and only getting 12 hours at home and getting called out again. The guy wants to see his family more than 8 hours a month, bad all the way around Grant. He's thinking of doing local cartage, but $16 an hour doesn't go to far towards his mortgage.
Nice day again, time to put some more of my distressed wood to work, going to beat the next person that talks about how the mower shed looks rustic.
