As always we had a good lunch now supper with at my #2 son's place.
The tree prices sound really good, wonder if they will do out of town?
Sorry to hear about your rough trip Ian, hopefully everyone was ok.
Good evening John, hopefully all is well in your part of the world.
Had to go to the bank today and on the way back I stopped at the thrift store. Saw some fall gloves so I bought a bag of them seeing as they were new and actual leather, need to stop back in there tomorrow as I gave them away to the neighbors that I deal with and wound up giving away all 10 pair and still know of a few hands that could use them. At $20 a bag it doesn't really cost anything, may buy 2 bags as these things don't go very far when you start adding up the people you know.
Have a good supper Morris
Hi John and go to bed Ian.
Smoking deal on those gloves, good for you in handing them out.
Can't beat a good supper with good company.
I hate it when there are good sales at Canadian Tire and I don`t need any of it. At least I have started my Christmas shopping early this year for a change.
I'm avoiding Canadian tire as it cost me to much to leave. LOL
My neighborhood has gotten a lot friendlier the last couple of years, it's starting to become like a small town Morris
PS. Gloves are like socks, everyone needs more than one pair
It used to cost me to go to Canadian tire and Princess Auto but now my shops and garages are full up so I`m ok now.
There`s nothing like a small town Perry, unfortunately Saskatoon isn't that way any more.
My next trip should be pretty cheap actually, my shopping list for the new truck is mostly lumberyard stock. Some 3/4" plywood, maybe some carriage bolts, some planking and a gallon each of tremclad white and black. Got to take the top off my transmission first to straighten out a shifting problem, think either one of the roll pins broke on my 1st - 2nd rail or the boots on the fork are gone. Looking on kijiji for 2 sets of seats for the trucks, don't need heated ones and I have enough metal and old seat that I can make what ever mounting brackets that are needed. Truck is so clean that it'll take maybe $500 to restore it all.
I bought 2 used dept of Sk Highway L8000 gravel trucks and on both of them the 1st gear, reverse shift fork broke a few years later, it was an easy fix with used parts.
$500 is cheap to get a truck in shape Perry, you do amazing work plus find the right bargains.
It's nice having the tools to do the job, plus the truck is in pretty solid shape. Still shop at auctions so that helps. These gen 6 trucks are easy to work on, can replace a transmission from inside the cab thanks to that trans cover plate, plus this np435 is a toploader so all the linkage is in the coverplate. Seats that I saw are gray leather 2nd row seats from a Tahoe, good shape as they see little use, at $150 they'd be the most expensive part of the rebuild. Won't need them until mid November so the price should come down by them, who buys second row seats for fronts but cheap guys like me.
In the last 25-30 years I finally have have a decent assortment of tools. Life can be really weird, it took a while before I could afford them and now I have them I don't use many of them.
It`s time for me to to turn out the lights and head off, we have a morning funeral to attend.
