Sherm once the motor is apart check the rod & main bearings & cyl wear,
if its all good then go for it,
I would replace the oil pump, timing chain & gears ..... as needed
Add a mild cam, tune package and headers. you'll be there. Oops. Happy Tuesday mornin'all. We had a truck brake a rocker arm in Gary, IN. Quite the shmozzle around here today. We have to send a truck out to pick up the trailer and a lowbed to pick up the truck. Too expensive to repair it down south. John: with your skills, I wouldn't worry about the dent in the fender. Have a great day guy's.
Evening everyone. Hope things are going well for all who are on the site. I usually log in everyday and enjoy hearing what everyone is up to. Stay safe everyone, driving in a Canadian winter can be tricky at times, especially around this time of year.
Time for last call gentlemen....
That`s right, 10 days and counting....got my present ready for shipping west Gerry?

I`d like to fund a few more summer toys Sherm. Be ready but I doubt you`ll need to call your banker for a bit of pocket change for the 56 F350.
Good evening John, Grant and Bridgeford, I like to log in at least once everyday too.

I'm all ears What sort of summer toy is coming this time?
Morning boys, cold temps are on their way. High of -19 for Friday, but we won't complain because of the great month of weather that we have behind us!! 3 months and 10 days and we will be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!!
I may just try bolt on's for now on the 351. Do a high flow intake manifold, headers and open up the air intake better. That would no doubt wake it up quite a bit. Pricing a few things helped tame my ambitions
Happy Hump Day mornin'all. Sherm; All I did to my low pow 5.0 was headers, dual exhaust, and open up the breathing. I also deleted the EGR, A/C, and air pump, to free up some space and weight. I haven't run it yet, but I'm confident it'll be fine. Snowing here today. They had forecasted up to 20 cm, but I doubt we'll get it. I'll get a list of parts I need off to you soon Morris. Before everything is gone. Have a great day guy's.
Hope everyone had a good day. We drove my wife's Escape to Yorkton today for more Christmas stuff. Roads were pretty good considering the time of year. Yorkton sure has more snow than we do.
Good evening to all that lurk here.
I don`t have anything in the way of a summer toy yet Sherm but if something neat comes along I want to be ready.
Like Gerry said, money always gets in the way and with the exchange rate it`s way worse.
Let me know what you need for parts Grant, likely it`s the same stuff I`m looking for.
What yr is your escape Bridgeford? Our`s is a 2013 and only a 2 wheel drive, the F150 gets used if needed but so far that hasn`t been the case.
We are almost ready for Christmas here, just me that has to do a little shopping. Sherm can you put a chip in your old truck to help boost the hp. I have a 400 that I am contemplating putting in my 81, the motor that is in there is a real leaker.
Morris I may have to give you a call about one of those 9" rearends.
Morris our Escape is an 01 and has the 4x4 option. Handy when the roads are heavy with snow. Usually on short hops to town if the roads are heavy I take my Soviet made Niva 4x4. Tough little cuss and is amazing in snow.
