Not good at pics . But , I live in the new house . My Uncle finished it in 1940 . The old house is long gone . I will say that Grandma made him use parts of the old house in the new one . I remember oil lamps and a wood cook stove as normal life here . I still use the draw well some times .
Not to be rude, but were your relatives supporters of the North or South? Was Deliverance filmed in your neck of the woods?
Morning everyone... Having an awesome weekend here. Saturday we butchered the remainder of our Cornish Giant chickens, then went to town to friends for a rib cooking competition. Our friends and their neighbors (which I also take liberty to call our friends) have BGE smokers/charcoal bbq's and they like to see who can create the best concoction. As taste testers of the event, we were the winners. The food was awesome. Then we proceeded to drink too much and stay up too late. Yesterday was a fun day recovering and watching the Riders win... I nearly enjoyed watching a football game
I was going to work today but its the last day before our daughter heads to grade 1 so I'll be taking the day off and watching the last of summer pass.... Kids are awesome.
Hope everyone had a great weekend, to you Manitobans...sorry for your loss
Happy Monday mornin'all. Yesterday's game was a close one, could have gone either way. We'll try again next weekend. Hadn't used my Mig welder for a year, and went to weld a bracket on the truck, and the wire was corroded. I usually take the spool out in the fall and reinstall it as needed. I forgot last fall, What a mess trying to weld with rusty wire. Cleaned up the ugly weld, changed the wire, adjusted the setting's, then my Auto dark helmet FUBAR'D. wouldn't lite up, changed battery's, and it wouldn't darken It's over 15yrs old, time for a new one. Sunny morning. Hope it stays that way today. John: Are you coming in for the Fabulous Fifties Show next weekend? I'll call you later today. Have a great day guy's

Not sure of my family history past 1900 , 1920 . My Father was born on this farm in 1920 , My Aunt in 1900 . Other than listings in the family Bible , not much is known of earlier times . I think the closest filming of that movie was around the Chattanooga area , about 60 miles away . My area is not the hillbilly inbred area shown in films . More of a farming , bible belt area . More Churches than you can count . Gently rolling hills , farmland and woods . Good place to live .
