The burn was a success. I was quite nervous at first as the old house was surrounded by dense bush, but it went well. Biggest surprise was it was a log house, plastered inside and out. We had to use the tractor to push it over so the logs would burn. Its still smoldering away out there, but the house is gone. Now comes the fun of cleaning up the site and prepping it for something more useful!!!
Burning brush is fun Morris, I've got a big pile of that to take care of later in the fall. Best thing is to harrow/cultivate a nice track around it so there's fresh black dirt for 10' or so. The fire can't jump then. It was nice to have the water truck here for some extra peace of mind. I'm extremely happy we didn't have to use it...
I also agree that acreage work is mentally relaxing. Its something a person can focus on and takes the mind off the days past activities.
Happy Monday mornin'all. finally got some much needed rain overnight. Back to work, with 2 weeks left for vacation. I think I'll just take a day here and a day there for 1 week and save the last for hockey tourney's. Have a great day guy's.
Morning all. Threat of rain and T-Storms for today...might be a off day as we don't have any inside work at the moment...
Was out shooting some skeet last night. My wife found the courage to put a few rounds through my 12g. I was very impressed. She didn't go for the skeet, but I was happy she shot the shotgun at all, and hit a stationary OJ container quite a few times... Another hunting partner for me.
Happy Hump Day mornin'all. Ordered a couple hundred $$$ worth of part's for the truck yesterday. I forgot to tell Dawn. My saving grace was I bought $30 worh of stuff for her Edge. We're supposed to se some rain later today or tomorrow. Have a great day guy's.

Have a great day everyone!!
It looked like we got 1/2'' of rain during the night, a good time to light my big burn pit full of tree trimmings.
Yrs ago I sold my neighbour my 410 which regret, now it sounds like he`ll sell it back to me for the same $50.

It`s usually easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...
Morning Gerry, all that support the blue oval, and John...
I tried out a Ford Escape yesterday, in my efforts to make a decision on a 2nd 4x4 to have as a family vehicle. They are very tiny inside. I'm not that big of a guy and was uncomfortable after a 10 minute drive around town. The 2.0L Ecoboost is an absolute hoot, but its not a vehicle for us. I still think that keeping our Fusion (its paid for and only has 20k on it) is the best idea and buy a 2nd 4x4 truck as a work truck and leave the diesel at home for momma when the weather says she should have the extra safety, power, traction, etc.
