I think that a 6.4 would be a better way to go than a 6.0. Its much quieter and the 6.0 reputation / bad resale wont go away. Its just the damn fuel mileage issue to contend with but the fix that Morris referred to is the way to go!
To be honest, I dont know if I would check out the forums for that stat. I think I would wait a year or two and see how they pan out. I WILL be keeping my eyes open though.
Dont get me wrong I love the ol 7.3 but if I could get that reliability out of the more powerful 6 liter, and get fairly close to the same mileage, I would do it.
How good are the 6.4's supposed to get with that fix? I talked to one fella today, he just traded his problematic 03 6 liter off on a 07 6 liter, and he told me he didnt get a 6.4 cause he knew someone that had a 6.4 and got 1 mile to the gallon with it! He said that was an exception, but he heard they got pretty poor fuel mileage too.
You know how fine of a bulls**t filter one must run fuel mileage talk through to get down to brass tax but I have heard of some single digit mileage (9 ish) up to maybe 13/14 stock. I have not spent much time on any 6.4 forums in the last while but would bet to see that into the 18 range easily. I find it hard to beleive any higher but I have been wrong before (more than once!!)

I think the 6.4 isnt that much more then a 6 liter, so Im not sure how they would compare. I really havent looked much into them either though. Just priced out that one brand new one, then decided against it.
Seems like the 6.4 is a new engine from the 6.0 except for the crankshaft.
