I get the pleasure of doing that a few times on my own farm here, and a couple times at my dads house! My dad used to work with concrete when he was younger and knows quite abit about it so it shouldnt be too bad, but still!
My female Shepherd Tango got her front paw run over - spent 2 days tripod mode but shes better now. Somehow she has no 'vehicle smarts'! Diesel is so 'vehicle aware' that its almost funny to watch as he got run over by a quad when he was a puppy. His new favorite pasttime is pruning trees. While Mom and Dad were away he has torn off half a 3 ton grain truck of branches. He is getting extreme - he jumps and grabs on then swings till they break!!! What an idiot!
With my parents being gone for over two weeks, its amazing how the dogs were aware that they were gone! Mom and Dad got back Friday night and the dogs just seemed more content today. Dont get me wrong with Diesel -- he is smart and he demands attention because that is how he was trained. With the yard a bit emptier and us busy spraying, he just was not getting the human interaction he needed and is accustomed to. This kind of dog isnt for everyone - with these dogs, the more you put into the relationship with them, the more you get in return. I like the fact of knowing that when push comes to shove, Diesel will do what his blood line was tailored to do with 100% confidence of that!
