Babes, our dog somehow manges to get the ticks off herself. I seen a good sized tick this morning on her ear and she wouldn`t sit still so I had to leave it for a bit. Shortly after that it was gone. Then the other night she was playing with a half sized tick on the floor she must have gotten off herself, seems amazing!
Morris, does your dog have anything for ticks? We have used collars in the past as well as Defend. This season we used Revolution because of the possibility that Tango may be pregnant. Some of that stuff will make the ticks back out on their own.
We haven`t had much of a problem in the last 3-4 years till this year. I think it has to do with the dogs keeping the deer awayfrom our yard.
Thanks for the tip, we`ll have to look into that since these two ticks showed up with in the last 3-4 days.
I cant remember what Defend cost but seems like I recall $50 did both dogs for 2 months. The Revolution is more money. It cost $100 for the pair for two months. I think Tango must of had 25 or 30 last year and Diesel maybe a dozen. I dont know if its her softer 'girl' fur but she sure had more than him.
We have had a problem here the last 2 or 3 years.
I went and checked out a german shepard pup at the spca in PA today. It was sure nice, but they have some really poorly treated dogs at that one right now, some people out there need my fist in their mouth!
We got one from the SPCA years ago that had been badly treated. He was a great dog, grateful for his new caring owners but he had a 'defensive' mean streak where he showed evidence of the abuse he suffered. I think he must have had the crap kicked out of him. I wish I could have trained his previous owners in the fashion they deserved!!!
I love animals and have no tolerance for abuse.
