Thanks WC. I bought it when I lived in Oregon over a decade ago. Drove it pulling a horse trailer loaded with ponies from Oregon to Louisiana back in 10. No issues and had a blast, one helluva road trip. Also bought another 78 SC (my avatar pic) while I was up there and drove it back with my Harley in the bed. Another crazy road trip, lol.
Another crazy road trip back in 15, was when I acquired this one. I got off the rig in NewMexico, drove straight to Kansas City, picked it up and then trailered it back to La. Lost my brakes (Crazy scary) coming through Dallas. Turns out I had a faulty brake controller in my 95 F350 so trailers brakes weren’t working and truck brakes boiled so pedal went to floor as I’m cruising thru Dallas during evening rush hour traffic. Thankfully got shutdown and shouldered with no issue (guardian angel must have been a Ford fan). Installed new controller next day and made it home with no further issues.
I just picked up this guy a month ago or so. It is patiently awaiting a body swap onto a newer 4x4 7.3 Powerstroke frame and eventually body work and paint.
What is the length of that camper. The ford trucks were made with the rear axle 2 feet from the bumper to accommodate a 12ft camper. I'm curious what length would require an extra axle. If it wasn't a requirement I bet it holds the weight better

its a 20’ camper. The tag axle is on a subframe that locks to a custom rear bumper that came with the camper.
