I've run about 3 tankfuls of this stuff so I'm about to pull mine after work. I have a feeling I won't be devastated by the results.

After reading all of the results, I finally decided to give the 2 stroke oil a try.

I added the oil (purchased from Walmart) at a 1oz per gallon ratio. I drove around the lot for a few minutes, hitting speed bumps to splash-mix in the tank, and noticed the difference at the first stop light. There was a noticeable decrease in clatter at idle up to about 1800~2000 rpm. I drove straight home and let it idle in the driveway for a while. I can definitely tell a difference.

So far, so good. I don't live too far from Walmart, and had to rush home....dinner was on the table. Tomorrow's drive to the office will tell the tale, but thus far, I'm impressed with the results.

Thanks to all for posting your findings.

I don't know whether it was the 2 stroke oil or the fact that I waxed my truck, but it's regularly getting me about 18 mpg like it did before the lift. Since, I've had the lift, it wouldn't get too close to 18; I'd really have to baby it just to get 18. With the 2 stroke, I was able to get 18.5 (easily) out of my last tank and maybe a little more out of this tank, so we'll see.

I just realized that 6 of the last 9 posts on this thread were from Texas PSD owners. I know also that Texas Outlaw lives not far from me, and TNT in Round Rock is in the hill country.

Is there some type of Texas Roll Call thread on this forum?
It would be interesting to know how many PSD owners we have in the area.

I saw the roll call in the SW Chapter section, but I'm not concerned about Explorer and Ranger owners (no offense to you guys). I'm more interested in local Diesel owners...specifically 7.3 PSD owners.

You're a bit south, but we have a pretty active group up here -- NTxPSA (North Texas PowerStroke Association). Have a look:
North Texas Power Stroke Association - Index

We get folks from all over the region -- heck, Rich even comes down from Ft. Sill pretty often, and IIRC, there is a guy that comes down from Kansas too.

I made my truck a cocktail of 8oz diesel clean and 24oz two stroke oil for about 28gal fuel, after about 65 miles the engine seems quieter
next tank will get about half that mixture
I have read about trucks getting better fuel milage, but with this fill I got 15.3 mpg in town with most round trips being about 2 miles,I really don't think I can beat that

i am driving my truck a little like I stole it on this tank. I normally get ~16 when I drive it this way. It will be interesting to see if the 2cycle makes a difference.

I don't know if any of you saw this thread, but 2 cycle was 2nd tier:

Some of you guys in texas are still kind of far from me. Between San Antonio & Austin is perfect though. i will be up that way this summer.

Since Scott did the IDM mod for me and we installed it I decided to run a couple tanks of straight #2 to flush out the 2 cycle and start with a new baseline. Before the IDM with #2 I was getting 14 mpg on average, with the 2cycle at 1/2 oz : 1gal mix I got a best of 16.88 driving easy with a average of 16.5 for the next couple of tank fulls . With the IDM mod and the 2cycle with a bit more hot rodding than I have been doing I got 16.37 mpg .So once I get all the 2cycle out I'm going to change both filters and start fresh with 2cycle again.

Has anyone with a decibel meter tried this to actually quantify the quieting of the engine?
