Well, I'm back from the road. Made a trip from New Orleans to Charleston, then Charleston to Jacksonville, then Jacksonville to New Orleans. Did the 2 stroke thing the whole way. Didn't notice anything more than I do when I run the DK white or grey.
Matter of fact, the last tank was DK white instead of 2-stroke and it was quieter. But that could be my need for a cackle cure and in-tank being hushed by a full load of fuel to keep the pickup immersed in air free fuel.
Knocked down 18.5mpg at 72mph on the hwy. That's typical of the mileage I see.
This is a great thread but has anyone gotten any concrete mileage gains?
1.2 with my Duramax. 17.5 mpg around town with the mix. 16.3 without. I drive the same roads using cruise and fill up to the edge of where fuel cap goes on. I really can't do the same with PSD as I haul varing weights, fuel gage is un- reliable and I don;t have the patience to wait to fill completely up. Also I do like romping on the PSD to hear the turbo.
The Dmax is faster , but PSD is a real truck
havent been on in a couple days, filled up last wed or thurs (cant remember)
I saw a 1.4 mpg increase using 2 stroke oil compaerd to using DK. I mixed a 1oz to every gallon ratio. So far im convinced, 13 mpg on 37's isnt too bad and im not too easy on her. Plus its one of my top fuel mileage numbers since the lift, in winter anwyay.
I think its worth it I drove my truck last night and it really dose run a lot quieter then ever before, I also put some lucas transmission treatment in my transmission just cause. And it made it shift noticable smoother. So far I think the 2 stroke oil seems to help with noise reduction
ok, i'm subscribed after reading this entire thread. I would really like to hear the results received from those of you that sent some samples off for lab tests.
For those that are adding 2 stoke oil to their diesel fuel and doing an oil analysis. Have you seen an increase in Nitration. If so what are your percentages?
Actually it had a negative affect on lubricity, made the wear scar 42 microns worse.
Good thing I stopped using it.
I tried the 2 cycle oil in my tank and it REALLY quieted down my engine and got me 19.4 mpg going down to Corpus Christi. I'll see how it does with a few more tankfuls, but it's much better than Marvel mystery oil. My truck seemed to kinda like Mystery oil, but my engine has never run so smooth and so quiet other than with the 2-cycle oil.
Thanks for that link. Looks like bio is the way to go. I'm going to try and find the place near me that sells it and fill up tomorrow to see how it is.
I have run marvel mystery oil before in my fuel never noticed any noise reduction like I did with the 2 stroke oil. So Im gonna use the 2 stroke oil from now on unless someone gets some test results in saying that its bad for them. I know its not made to be put in Diesels but I couldnt see the harm in it. I do add a little marvel in my motorcycle tanks just cause but mostly my dirt bike every once in awhile
I tried the 2 stroke oil this weekend, It really quietend things down alot! I put 1 oz to the gallon to start with, next tank I am going to 1/2 oz to the gallon! So far I like the results.

i added a quart of the Super Tech Outboard to this tank of diesel. i have only gone 10 miles since I added it, and didn't notice any immediate difference. i'll see what it does tomorrow. $8/GALLON is cheap enough though.
Ya im gonna be buying a few gallons. So far im impressed with the results. Mostly the lubricating properties. Im sure this is doing some good for my injectors. Also, since i usually fill up with about 35 gallons - the 32 oz bottles are not giving me the correct 1:1 ratio.
