Its Dp Tuner time :)

Well I finally talked my dad into a Dp tuner I cant wait. Tomorrow I am calling up jody at place my order. Here is what I am getting. No Start, Stock, 80 Tow, 80 Economy, 100 Performance, 120 Race, 140 Smoke, and Hight idle 1,400. Is that enough tunes to keep me happy? Also where is Dp tuner based. I want to call after school tomorrow but I don't know what time he closes at.

nick, do a search on mapqwest or something similar by the area code. that should give you an idea as to time zone.

DP is in Eastern time Zone, Just outside of the ATL area.
Call before you go to school..... it will be 10am Jodys time, if its 7am in Cali.


On EDIT: skip the 100 performance, and get the 60 tow for your toy hauler, trust me..... its what you need.

DP Tuner is based in Georgia, so if you're calling Jody or Diane, call three hours earlier than you were planning. (Call before 2pm our time.)

Save some bucks and don't bother with the 100 tune. And if that thing will be towing heavy, get a less aggressive tow tune. Aw heck -- just call Jody or Diane. They'll tell you what you need. Oh, and 1400 seems a bit high on the high-idle to me... Don't most get 1100??

yep I got the 1100 hi idle and its perfect. ask Jody about the new DECEL programs, basically it turns your EBPV into an exhaust brake.

Ditto on 60t just in case you are towing heavy, you don't want to have to use stock if you can avoid it (stock sucks) and remove the 100 you will never use it. I would lose 140 smoke to, I don't think a stock truck can keep up with 140 smoke, you could always add it when you go big oil, injectors and bb turbo, if you can convince your Dad. Because Jody will have to reburn the chip at that point anyway. You will be amazed at the smoke you can get out of 80e.

Are you going with the F5 gauge pod switch?

Nick I didn't see a gauge for trans temp in your sig. Living dangerously?

By the way congrats, your Dad will love it.

yeah i was plannin on orderin mine last friday but they were closed so i had to wait untill tuesday, the they had to wait on a shipment of oba's. maybe i'll get my dp sometime next week

They have decel programs? Where did you hear about that?

NICK - SAVE YOUR DAD 45 DOLLA AND DITCH THAT 100 HP TUNE. If you still want to spend your dad's money get a smaller tow tune.
BTW You should have got a JWVB if you wanted to spend all that extra money

From someone who has had all the tunes and now only runs a few, save your dad's money, get this. Stock, hi idle, 60t, 80t, 140 smoke. I have my 80 econo file modified to shift halfway between a standard performance tune and a tow tune. I'm going to get all the tunes changed over to tow shifting patterns, i prefer to be slower with 60t and have a nicer shifting transmission. I never use 40t, and never use 120 race. I always run around in 60t, however if the 80 had the same tranny shifting strategies i would use it. The 120 has less SOTP power than the 80 on my truck, and dyno proven. Less ICP and just less power. The 140 use it only for making smoke.

I can't drive my truck in 60T! My milage TANKS. It could be lack of air, but I think it is rpm's. If you are half on the throttle in tow it shoots way above 2k to maintain good rpm's for the next higher gear. I can only imagine how much better it works on the gn, but it isn't a daily tune for me and my lead foot.

Dude my dad has always wanted a Exhaust break. I have to get this one now.

Unfortanly we have the 04 X setup to tow the toy hauler so I wont need that tune
