I think the plan for tomorrow is to get some 9 gauge wire for me. Gonna get it all tacked in place with the arc, then I'm gonna take it to the shop and hopefully the mig will be up and going. Maybe I'll do a write up on it all. Do one rim with the ring, glue the other rim, and leave one of them stock and see how hard it is to blow each one at 5 psi. Gonna get some video of the pos doing donuts Least it'll spin both of the rears now..
I never got stuck on a green trail at RC!
Okay, the F trail, but I didn't get stuck, you guys couldn't get down it and I had to hit a tree to stop myself and turn around.
And in the back of your yard was with well-worn BFG shovels.
so STFU.
alot of "off road" wheel manufactures are putting larger lips to hold the beads on better.....like the set they are using on extreme4x4 the s10 truggy.....
78250, average fifth is around 16 bucks....
Crown=little over $20
Crown special reserve?=$45ish? (can't afford that)
Turkey=just under $20
Kentukey Beau=$6 (it's a smooth blend like crown, but cheap as dirt and it doesn't give a bad hang over)
Guess I don't get to watch much tv, so I havent been able to follow it. I think that the manufactures skimp out on the size of the bead, just to allow for easier mounting and dismount, but thats something I would be willing to sacrifice. Esspecially if i could run 8-10 pounds without a care in the world.
Not saying the time will ever arise when I'll need to, just peice of mind, and some experience.
Yeah, 2-3 would be nice, just dont know if I would trust my little safety bead adder on thing as well as a true beadlock. I guess I'll see if I ever get around to doing some testing. Do you think that I could get a shop to mount a tire on a rim modded like this?
I know when I worked in a shop, I'd be pretty pissed If someone brought that in.
Not trying to say they won't do it, or it's a bad idea at all, but just saying....
One bead could be forced in place, but the other would be a major pain in the ****...at least from what I'm thinking.
Ol' Yeller might be able to get the second bead on, but not the regular air hose....
ol' yeller is about a 150 psi blast of air, and it's very seldom it can't get a bean on.
Even if it wasnt for them to get it on the bead, but just to get it on the rim. I guess I'll just have to see. I was thinking that would be a last resort if I couldnt get the tire over the rim. Nothing some persuation couldn't help I guess.
