I didn't even know there was an entry fee until 2 days ago. I need to win some money, get my tax return, sell a kidney and get a 10 lb nitrous bottle. Then I will be ready for Pinks.

Someone back on page 1 was looking for some pics of cages installed in these trucks. I finally got around to taking some pics of the interior cage that is still in progress in my 73 crewcab

On Saturday morning, we started in on finishing the roll cage. Tied the cage to the frame from the main hoop and also frame the plates that sandwich the main hoop to the cab floor. Went pretty well until the pipes in our guest house froze and we went from fabricators to plumbers real fast. Got that taken care of and finished the cage and called it a day.

Today, we gutted the interior and powdercoated the dash and installed the gauges. Also put the box back on for the final time after we forgot to bleed the brakes a few weeks ago.

Everything looks good. I didn't realize you were installing a 10 point. I am just goin for an 8 point with the rear tubes that unbolt so I can take them off on the street. It will be awhile before I need a 10 point.

The only reason we are going with the cage that ties to the frame in six spots is for tech inspections at various tracks. The track we usually run at is pretty easy going if they have seen you before. Not sure about Denver and Pinks but just being cautious anyway. The cage was pretty cheap and shipping was free because we picked it up in California while visiting my brother.

Let us know if and when you are on Pinks. I love that show. My wife on the other hand hates it, and hates it when I watch it.

Plus I needed to post here to get updates on the build. Looks awesome!!!

The filming of Pinks will be on August 9th in Denver. It will Air later in the fall, a few months after being filmed i believe.

The cage is looking good in the truck. The 6 points are really going to stiffen up your chassis also..

After i finish up an engine swap im doing tomorrow, ill have the cash needed to finish my car up and get it on the street pretty soon to begin tuning it..

I am glad the cage is almost done. It is only tack welded right now but already the truck feels stronger with it tied to the frame. It is welded directly and then we used some of the ladder bar crossmember for the main hoop that runs from the plates to the frame.

I am really itching to get the truck on the street to get a few miles on it before thrashing it for 4 months. It isin't even clse to street legal but I live in a town of 3500 people and can get a police escort on Interstate 25. Engine will be assembled saturday(hopefully) and maybe go in on Sunday. Going to need lots of tuning here to get the ladder bars right. Good luck on Friday Morning Colo.

The pre-test and tune testing is the most fun..lol..I live in a town of maybe 125-150 people..We have a nice frontage road at the end of town. The frontage road used to be US HWY6, and has about an 1/8th mile straight shot, and then a little curve, and a slowdown area...

I went to a swap meet last weekend..Found an original set of 1955 license plates. Ive been thinking about buying a set, and trying to register the dodge to run those plates (legal in colorado for pre 1974 vehicles to run plates that are the year of the vehicle, these are the plates with the stamped years on them)

I was 2nd guessing myself about buying the plates, so i put them back and flipped thru the rest of them. In the middle of a big box i found a set that was 1955...and the 'numbers' on the plate were 323. My racer/car number that i have had for the last 3 or 4 years is B323. Figured it would be cool to have a set of plates that match my racer/car number, so i bought them and am going to register them to the car if the state decides to let me do so.

About PINKS..lol..I have had 5 people i know offer to try to get me signed up from thier houses/computers on friday morning...I think ill have one or 2 of them give it a shot just incase i cant get in from my computer.

Heres my ticket. I left off the barcode part, which is the actual ticket so there will be no copying or editing of my ticket to someone elses name.

Howd you do MWVDUB???

Looks like i was the 3rd person to get a ticket. My stepdad got his 3 minutes after i did and was the 127th.

I bought my ticket at 8:47am .
