When I was making my intake I pulled the intake hose going to the turbo and it ripped around the edge. Went to parts plus and they didn't have anything so i had to go to Ford. The had 2 hoses listed an orange one and a kit for for trucks with pre something date. Mine was the pre and off course that was more expensive. Orange hose was $70 the one they said I needed was $ 125. What is the difference in the two? How can that hose cost that much? I think Ford is bending me over and greasing me thoroughly because I have to have the hose but cant get it else where

 

The orange hose is junk that is why you need the other one. if you can wait it can be had cheaper from powerstrokeshop.com but for some reason I can't get the part numbers to come up
here are the part numbers(you need the top kit unless you have a CCV mod
Intake Hose Kit (updated kit replaces orange hose, includes replacement for aluminum center section)

Intake Hose, updated black (Replacement hose for above, does not directly replace orange hose)

TJ is correct.
From what i understand you cannot even get the orange inlet hose.
I like to see them order it and see what happens.
You dont want to use the orange silicone hose. Use the black upgrade hose.

ive got the metal piece where ccv ties in. my old hose is red which is throwing me off

 

The old hose is red, the new updated hose is black, the red hose was prone to leaking and collapsing. The metal piece that you have is replaced by the black plastic piece in the kit (pictured above).

 

oh it looked kinda metal by the angle. What was the orange hose then I thought they were the old style

I got mine from intakehoses.com . My orange hose was falling apart around where it connects to the turbo. I'll have to look to see what they sell for because I forgot but it is a heavy black hose.

Okay, I'm back. They want $57.71 for it. It is a good quality hose. Hope this helps in your quest.
