My Impala Blew Up
My Impala Blew Up
So anyways The 61 Impala from my signature blew up spectacularly yesterday barreling down a 2 lane blacktop at 80.
It has the original numbers matching 235 in it that went boom and broke the crank in half and then limped 1 mile more before throwing a rod and dying.
I got it to start back up after I towed it home because obviously it would, its a Chevy after all.
Would you guys want to see a build thread here of me rebuilding the suspension and putting a free rebuilt 283 I have into it and maybe some rust repair and interior work?
I would do this on a Chevy forum but I cant get into any of them as they wont approve my accounts I create.
Just want your thoughts here.

Youre not wrong but you forget, if I am driving it and I can afford it then It was already worn out and dying when it was parked.
I am the one that always gets the clapped out *****box beater cars and trucks.

I think the repairing and rebuilding of a Chevy should be on Chevy board
Yeah but I cant get into any Chevy forum as they never activate my account.
@Steve Harlow is doing a dodge here so why not?
If you guys don't want to see it then that's fine, I just wondered if there was any interest here for a build thread.

Try again on the Chevy forums.
Well that's your opinion not everyone else's and I cant change it.
I'll still wait a bit more and see if anyone does want to see it and then i'll decide.

This reminds me of a video of Ben Schapiro debating a liberal. She asked him to prove the Boys Scouts were only for boys, he said, "It's in the name, "Boy Scouts"" Same here, the name of this forum is for "Ford Truck Enthusiasts".
We tend to discuss other off topics here but specifically focusing on a Chevy project and throwing in snide anti Ford remarks or pro Chevy comments isn't appreciated.

The reason I try to share this stuff here is because you guys are who I look up to for advice and information since any of my potential role models or people to go to for guidance in my life couldn't be bothered to even listen to me, forget helping me at all.
I get the message though, it is Ford only and nothing else.
My thinking was that since people post here about non Ford things like road trips, house remodeling, shed building, or other non Ford vehicles, that my car would fit in there too.
Sorry for the misjudgments on my end.
Just thought I would explain so I don't look like some inconsiderate a**hole that just wants attention.

I will be very blunt so that there is no mistaking my opinion, as well as others who have voiced theirs, but it seems you don't want to accept.
Not just NO, but hell NO.
If the Chevy forums do not want to accept you for what ever reason, why on Gods green earth should we be subject to your constant anti-Ford remarks during your build process. I have noticed them several times in your post but bit my tongue because your young and we all were at sometime. The fact that you were pushing that car at 80mph and then continued to drive it causing additional carnage on a "numbers matching" vehicle just goes to prove my point. At my age and with over 30 years in law enforcement I have a very short fuse for putting up with arrogance or stupidity, not saying your either but your comments on this thread alone are enough for me. If you want to continue on the the forum I suggest you put your self in check in a forum dominated with older Ford folks who've been around and seen a few things.
Don't forget this forum is a family and like family some times tough love is the only type understood. Good luck on your projects.

Well said, Dawg. You are wise beyond your years. Thanks for understanding. It's nice that you look to us as role models. And as such by making decisions you don't like us part of being a role model.
I just read your last two post as I was writing mine, nobody is saying your an A hole and most all here have thick enough skin to handle ribbing but you need to be known and trusted for that. I know I can speak for most here in that we will gladly offer assistance and help when ever we can. Off topic is fine but a chevy thread is beyond that. Don't get the "I'm taking my ball and going home" menatlity.
On another note it would be nice if we knew your name so we could carry on conversations with a person rather than a pseuddonym. ( do you even own anything with a diesel?)

I have been on this forum from the beginning when if was a daily digest and have found this is the most accepting board I've ever on. Try pushing the topic i the wrong direct on the HAMB board. Believe me, you'd be lucky be able to pick up your ball and go home without having the ball deflated and a hole torn into it and the backside of your jeans, those guys can be vicious. The AACA Buick board I go to is populated with by the numbers pure restoration geezers who farm out most, if not all, of the work on their cars. The have no tolerance for anyone who isn't building a concourse quality build.
Sure we go off topic a lot but by coming here it's like going to someone's garage and talk about Ford trucks and the subject swerves into other topics. Walking in and start a thread about a Chevy and bad mouthing Ford trucks isn't the way to endear yourself. It would be like going into the hometown baseball team's locker room and praising their rival. That is not going to go over too good but if you want to talk about your favorite sporting goods store or restaurant then the discussion can continue without a problem.
