You bought the wrong truck if you're paying attention to gas mileage......

Adding what motor you have could be helpful.

Yeah, we can't tell you anything without knowing exactly what you have.
Plus, where did you read, or who told you it would get 15 mpg in town anyway???

sorry, it's a v8 7.3 gas engine.
I've hand calculated it, and what the dash says, the dealership told me I should get 15 city and 21 highway, everything online pretty much says it's fuel efficient and those are the numbers I should be getting. I expected at least something close even in eco mode I'm around 8 or 9 mpg

The dealer rep obviously was pulling number out of thin air since F250 and up don't even get rated for mpg at this time.

Check out the 7.3l gas forum, they some MPG threads at the top with feedback from actual owners. Dealers often are misinformed, exaggerate or just plain make crap up.

1st, it's the dealership to sell you a truck, if they told you 15, and your less 10, what are you going to do about that? What can you do?

The truck is as aerodynamic as a brick, weights significantly more than the average vehicle.

Some guy here a few days ago raving about the 6.8 getting 18+ (I think) with oversized tires, yeah right!

I'm avg about 16 with a 550 that weighs in, in the ballpark of 4,000 pounds more, then again it's a diesel.

Sales people tell you what they think you want to hear.
So much affects fuel economy, mostly it comes down to how you drive and terrain.
Also, is the truck still all stock, original size tires and equipment???
And, what gear ratio in it?

Gear ratios have a lot to do with it. I have a V10 in a Class A motor home that gets about 11MPG, and I have a V10 in a 25-passenger bus that gets 5MPG (on a good day, and no passengers). Diesel should be way better. We get about 16MPG overall with my 2006 6.0L.

I'm at 14.5-15ish 2024 F350 7.3L very light on the go pedal.
Banks Pedal Monster installed for the fun of it.
We need more info:
Engine?
If gas, what octane rating are you using?
Tire pressure?
Driving habits?
Miles on truck? - Will increase some as parts become broken in.
Hand calculated or from the display?
I'm sure there are other factors.

Dealers kill me! 15/21 to funny!
My 2022 F150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost was around 18-19 city and maybe 22-23ish hi-way IF I kept it under 70mph.
But who want to get passed by a 80 year old granny with a car load of grandkids? I really wouldn't have minded that she passed me, but come on lady, the finger too?

I’m getting about 13. Mostly drive 2 lane hilly winding country roads. Very little city or expressway driving.

I have a 23 7.3 with 430 gears and run 35's. I get 10 mpg no matter what I do, I can drive it like grandma or like I stole it, don't matter, but like stated above, if you are concerned about gas mileage in a Superduty you bought the wrong truck.
