the 15* HPOP (high pressure oil pump) is the stock HPOP on our trucks, the 17* is on the superdutys, stage IIs are bigger, more efficient injectors, normally they are between 160 and 180cc while stock on our trucks are like 98cc... stock on the newer 7.3s is 120 i believe and the 6.0s is 140?? the 10k mod is hard to explain.... someone else probably has that link to show what it is... the 1.0 turbo is the size of the housing... ours is 1.15, you can get aftermarket housings at like .85 and 1.0... the smaller the housing the faster the spool up of the turbo...

Thanks Glasseater-that helps. My '96 is my first stroker but have been a fan for many years. I was finally able to find one I could affordw/329000miles,cc 4x4,pretty solid needs bed but have one.I have done the FPR shim& got up to 80psi, cleaned the screen(that helped alot),3" downpipe. These mods really helped.Looking forward to more mods but not going to get carried away.Maybe 17*pump,stage II,TS Programmer-6pos. Does anyone have website for diesel perfomance plus, for stage II injectors.

not getting too carried away?!?!?! with that you'll double your hp and torque!!! ahh the beauty of a diesel remember to get rid of that stock airbox if you haven't already, the tymar intake (or that napa 6673 or something like that) are the best bang for your buck (and give REALLY loud turbo whistle) i wish i remembered DPPs site... i'll look for it and if i find it i'll post it up

the 10k mod is simple, your icp sensor has 3 wires on it, cut the blue with red strip and install the resistor of your choice inline, i had the 5.6 in becaus ethat was what i had laying around and that gives noticable power but no idle change, the 10k inline gives more power but rough idle, throw an 18k potentiometer (adjustable resistor) and you can turn it up higher on the fly. the last is on my list but just havent had the time to install, i have teh potentiometer but havent had teh 20 minutes needed to put it in. to see my 10k version click my webshots link under my signature and one album is my mod

stage 2's arent any more efficient than stock injectors, they just have alot more fuel and bigger nozzles. early 99's have 120 cc and late 99 on up have 140cc injectors.

stage 2's attomize the fuel better (easy driving) because they don't have to be pumping out close to their maximum rate at only 1/2 throttle... at least that's what i've understood about them (from magazines, other forums, this forum etc)

But I wanted to ask anyway.

Glasseater, you have BTS tranny and TC in your sig. I emailed them a while back but haven't heard from them yet. What did you have done? Did they rebuild yours and match a TC to it? Or did you buy one of their tranny's and TC?

I'm thinking I should get mine done in the near future, but I'm not sure what I need to have done. My rig is in my sig and I tow a 24-foot travel trailer. Trailer rating is somewhere around 8,000 or 9,000 pounds, if even that much.

Any suggestions?

The IDM's are modded to supply more current to the injectors. Neal, Tim's and My IDM's are modded to supply 140v. Stock they do 100v I believe.

My IDM is just a stock Superduty IDM so its only 120 volts. The modded IDM or the higher than stock voltages open the injectors faster. so throttle response is improved some with the modded IDM. Here is a write up for the IDM
http://www.forgotton.net/diesel/idmmod/index.htm

My Frantz bypass filter is a secondary oil filter that takes small portions of oil (less than 10% of total flow) and sends it through a much finer oil filter. In the case of the frantz and Motor guard it uses toliet paper to filter down to a claimed 1 micron or less. The full flow oil filter can handle the entire volume of oil the pump puts out but can only do so filtering down to 20 microns. So the bypass filter gets the oil cleaner. for more info and options on bypass filters see this forum

http://theoildrop.server101.com/foru...=0&Board=UBB36

and for install pics of my bypass filter go here
