Bring that truck back to the dealer now and have them fix it, something is screwed with that thing if your exceeding the max tow weight. I like ford just as much as like dodge, but that performance is not acceptable at all, with other people and 6.7s easily pulling stuff like that. Your DPF may be clogged.

The Cummins is a great motor (or was before the 6.7, we'll see...) probably the only reason Daimler found a buyer for Chrysler was because of the engine contract with Cummins and Jeep. Wish Ford had gotten Cummins instead of Navistar (although my 7.3 was great), but there is no comparison when looking at the overall product. Here's my question to the Dodge fanatics - if the Cummins is soooo great, why isn't the Dodge rated to tow or carry as much as a comparable Ford?
Well then here's a question for you Ford boys. Why is it that you beloved F-650 and up either has a Cat or a Cummins motor and not your powerstroke? Also why is it that you see so many Fummins conversions?

So far I haven't heard much of anything bad about the 6.7 other than the mileage is a bit worse. Now your 6.4 on the other hand I'm not so sure on....?

I'm not trying to start stuff, but you guys need crap tossed back at you every once and a while. haha

you have the option of cummins cat or powerstroke in the 650, and the fummins conversions are done because those guys like the motor but the ford truck itself is better in their opinion

because the F650 is a medium heavy truck, and the powerstroke is a light medium duty engine.

I do believe the F-650 is available with the Powerstroke and the B-series Cummins engine available in the F-650 is definately "not your" Dodge Cummins.

Becuase some don't want to be seen in a Dodge?

Actually I think its the same one thats going to be used in the RAM 4500/5500 chasis cab, minus some dodge specific things. The powerstroke is not avaiable for 08 F-650 and F-750s at this time, only the 6.7 Cummins and 7.2 CAT

well I have a ford and a dodge the ford is a 99 f350 supercab with a 7.3 I love it the mpg some people tell you they get I question my 99 gets about 13 mpg I don't drive like a girl the dodge truck is a 06 2500 qaudcab I love it too the fit and finish on the dodge is NOT as nice as a ford the dodge has 4 real doors those supercab doors get noisey as they age the dodge is much faster gets alot better mpg 17 mpg I think the ford is a much tougher truck get what ever one you like the best you will probaly have less problems with the cummins engine than the psd but the rest of the truck is better the 5.9 cummins is the best engine ever put in a pick up every body believes it they just don't admit it i guess what do you parts do you want to buy brake pads or injectors?

GOOD LUCK

You see Cummins converstions into Fords because that great motor deserves a great truck! Oh, and usually it's a gas to diesel conversion, and the I6 is much easier to stuff into a different truck. Oh, and there are lots of Cummins motors available as the pickup they were originally installed in fell apart around the motor.

It's hard to watch, but go to YouTube.com and search for Powerstroke vs Cummings. It's tough to see a F350 crewcab 4x4 pulled back ward smoking the tires by a Dodge. Not saying Dodge is better, but the Cummings is a strong engine. I have 00 Excursion with 7.3 .

Pulls are more about the puller's skill in stopping the tires from jumping or spinning, once that happens, you lost.

Just got back from Pismo and we averaged 12 MPG pulling a 20' car trailer with a 4,400 lb Jeep on it at 60 to 65 MPH. Hit 75 a couple times passing vehicles. We have 1200 miles in it and so far so good. 2008 F-250 SD 6.4 PS

Look at the sponsor you dont think that dodge is stock do you. Dump two yards of sand in back of the Ford and pull it!

Dodge never going back

For the 11 months I had my Dodge 05 3500 DRW it was in the shop 14 times including 2 months fighting with a dealer who ruined my engine. Dont get me wrong the truck pulled strong but the fuel millage sucked about 14 on a good day with no load. I got rid of the truck with 28k. My Ford ive had for just a little over a year has been at the dealer 6 times for oil changes and once for some tsb work on the high preasure oil line. My fuel millage is about 17 to 19 mpg with 26k on it. I cant complain.

No I don't believe so, the Ram 4500/5500 chassis cabs appear to also be getting the special Dodge only version of the Cummins ISB.

" Dodge is rating the 6.7L in the Chassis Cab segment at 305 hp/610 lb ft."

Isn't the ford one the same? Sorry if I'm wrong, but I don't think it would be cost effective to make a bunch of different of the same engine?
