My son's truck, f250 7.5L 4x4, the pump is going out, very noisey and leaks. I would like to do this conversion for him. Can some one that did this, give me a list of all parts needed so I can go and get them. Like hose, bracket, pulley, and anything else I'll need
Please refer to the 1st and 4th post on this thread. All you need is the pump and either a new pressure hose or an adapter to use the existing hose. I got a new pressure hose at the parts store which fit a 79 F250. The factory pulley works, and the adapter bracket is already installed on the pump when you buy it. It's that simple.

I'm doing this swap this week on my '93 with this pump.
After trying several rebuilt replacement units, the noise from the remans were worse than the original ever was. Ultimately I went and got a unit from Ford (still a reman) and it was the quietest, but made noise just like the original.
Hopefully the Saginaw pump will be a quiet one.
From what I have gathered after pouring over many post is that the 93-96 Bronco/F series and 97 F350 can use the original pressure hose.
You only have to use the 78/79 Bronco/F series hose if pre '93 (I'll assume this part would work on 93-97, but may not be necessary)
This pump will work on Early Broncos (66-77)too, except an adapter is needed to convert the pump pressure outlet to the correct male fitting (Napa # 1563).
To help clarify the confusion on pressure hose compatibility, I will report back with my findings later in the week in regards to if the factory pressure hose actually works for the 93-97.
That looks like the same pump off a lot of chrysler stuff, like late 80/early 90s jeeps and 70s trucks...my 72 dodge M30 has one like that and so does my friend's 87 wrangler.

I thought it looked like the late 60's pontiac setup I had on a GTO.
Mine makes a lot of noise ... but goes away when I add PSP Fluid. But the seals on my gearbox are leaking bigtime. I will be changing the gearbox for rebuilt one with new seals soon, if the noise continues after that .... I guess the Saginaw will find it's way under the hood like the 3G will real soon.
My 96 5.0 pump is quiet for about 30 seconds when I start it . Then makes a swishing noise constantly like a bad idler, but I get no sound from either . No whining noise . I put Lucas in it but it sounds the same .I plan on replacing it soon . Pat
My PSP was whining and leaking fluid, but at the time I didn't have very much money, so I just pulled my PSP off, flushed it with some diesel, and then filled it up with Lucas Power Steering Fluid Stop Leak, ( I can't remeber the name exactly). When I did that, I was just hoping to make my pump last a couple of weeks until I could get some money, but with the Lucas, it quit leaking and the whining has decreased dramaticly.
Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak is great stuff. It fixed a noisy leaky trashed pump on my old car but I still can hear my f150 . They have great trans fix too! My pump had a leaking hose that was left unchecked until I bought my truck and fixed it . So I feel the pump gears are worn out hence the light swishing noise .Pat
