Both trucks you have are OBD-1 so OBD-2 never enters the equation. In very simple terms all you have to to is lift the engine harness of the mass air motor and put it on your running truck along with the MAF meter and computer.

Probably means just swapping parts including the ECM but not reprogramming it or replacing any chips.

Not so, my 95 is obd1 and the 96 is obdII We always plugged the snap-on under the dash of the 96.

Have you seen this: bjoern.brembs.blog: Content / Ford F150 302 V8 Pickup truck (2000-2003) / - Mass-Air conversion ? Granted, it's written about an 88 truck, but the wiring changes are all pretty similar and it does give a good idea of what is involved. Remember that the lightning throttle body and intake manifold modifications that are pictured on that page are not necessary.

Sorry guys to keep this thing goin. I just talked to Ron Reader from Dunn Rite Perf. and he said hes branching off and starting a new company Triple R Sales. They do stock the SD to MAF kits 795 for a standard. New phone # is gonna be 248-672-7250. Said he had about 200 in stock.

OK dumb question here but... How can you tell if your truck has SD or MAF?

I am pretty sure mine is SD but I have a '93 F-150 parts truck and am working a deal on parts off a '90 something F-250 from one of the local tow yards. How can I tell if these parts trucks are SD or MAF? Both trucks have E40D trannies.

The easiest way is to look for the mass air flow meter in the intake hoses. The air filter housing on mass air trucks will have a single outlet opposed to the double outlet of speed density trucks.

Might look into splicing the maf stuff into my harness, but just want to get my ducks in a row cause I don't want to endup with 2 parts trucks.

Though so.. and that throws a hugh monkey wrench into your plans because the 2 systems are not compatable. You can use the MAF meter and injector wiring if you strip it from the '96 harness and patch it into the '95 harnss, but the '96 computer won't even plug into your '95 harness so it's of no use at all.

So in that casee couldn't Bronco take the entire harness and computer from the '96 and put it into the '95?

Not trying to argue, still learning.

It would have to be the entire powertrain wiring harness, engine and tranny, and possibly the dash wiring and gauge pod as well. Not a small job.
