usaf i just saw that webpage and saved it, now my hopes are up a bit, i have a '92 bronco 5.0/e4od. i got the motorsport 5.0/aod kit on a shelf and am stumped on the e4od. mabey the key is in the '95 computer???
i ould think that would be key, i found a maf-ed 95 f150 locally in omaha, gonna try this one out may take me a week or two but ill try to post up results.
They have a tranny only controller that you set up at your PC. I have bought a plumbing part from them that I have not yet received. I know nothing else about the company.

The only questions that seem to hang me up are: I've seen conversions done that install a 2nd 02 sensor is that really neccessary and isn't there a speed density calculater somewhere that should be removed or something? I've found plenty of MAFs in the area and ECMs but tryting to match up to an E40D 4wd is proving harder than I thought. But, I will never give up and never surrender!!
I have been preparing to convert my truck from SD => MAF. From my research, you can run successfully with a single HEGO(O2) sensor, if both the left and right HEGO signal wires are tied together and both HEGO grounds are wired together.
There is no SD calculator. The MAP sensor is removed from its vacuum line to create a BARO sensor.
As for the tranny issue, to use a Ford kit (M9000-T51) with an E4OD, there is one choice, use a second PCM or that IST device I pointed to earlier.
If you are not using a Ford kit, you can use a HUG2 or BUG2 computer. The pinouts are different and require more wiring changes than a mustang computer. The HUG2 and BUG2 were in '95/96 California trucks. You can get one of theses computers for $25 on eBay. I made a spreadsheet with the pinout wiring changes, that I can post or email if you want.
HOG1 works as well too. Hard to find in book references, but I have one. Its for a 1994 5.0L California Emissions E4OD truck. Seen a few on craigslist and ebay over the years.
One distinct advantage... There is only 1 o2 sensor associated with this PCM.
thanks imd, interesting website i saved it too. i wonder if there's much hassle to install the e4od computer. $429 seems as good of price as any if it's easy to install it and set it up w/the laptop.
me too, i'd love to see a sefi mass air'd 460. i've got a 460/c6 out of an early 70's lincoln i plan on building someday, sure be neat to get the efi pieces off an efi truck 460 and make it sefi mass air. i'm not sure on the 460's firing order
Okay, its now obvious he is too busy to complete and submit this article. But, if ya do a little digging around yourself, you can find tons of info on doing an A9 swap into a truck. I'm going to be putting an A9P into my '95 here soon. My approach is going to be getting the harness from a MAF truck and then switching pins in it for the A9 layout. I should only have to add one or two more wires for a second O2 sensor. I'm also using an aftermarket MAF meter and larger injectors. Heck, I'll take some pics and make some notes on doing this approach.
for ya'll w/ E4OD tranny's go to Baumann Electronics, and ck out hte "Baumannator" A SUPER product. When I converted I bought this product , and its the best thing I've done to my truck, even better than the conversion itself. It runs the tranny as a stand alone computer, and its not very expensive either, They are good people to talk to when installin it, u will talk to Mr. Baumann himself for tech answers, Excellent Company , and Excellent People.
After a ton of research on MAF conversions (one idiot told me he could do it under 30 minutes) I am in the process.
I've picked up a 70MM MAF from a 93 Mustang, gonna bolt it to my K&N 57-2542 intake tube. For wiring and a computer I have picked up an engine wiring harness and computer from a 95 F 150 5.0L with Mass Air.
Total expenditure to date is $213.48 with shipping (already had the K&N).
Tell me I am not stupid before I actually start replacing all of the wiring harness (more than a bit labor intensive)
