Yeah, Ferguson is the largest plumbing dist in the US. We ahve so many seperate companies that I cannot even name them. We are all over seattle and Wa in general. I work out of the West Seattle and Shoreline Branches.
I used to be a pretend Sparky. Yes it is an international codename.
I was a maintenance electrician for Genie industries in Redmond and Woodinville, Then I traveled the country as a Field service tech for a CNC machine tool company. Then went back to a steel shop as the Maintenance Lead and Sparky when we decided to start a family.
The real money is in COMERCIAL Electric and plumbig. The residential side is so cut throte that no one makes any money except the builder. Same with HVAC and all of the residential trades.
You say that like it's a bad thing! Shame on you! I would kill for your knowledge... Must be why I'm working on my Electrical Engineering degree... I guess I'm gonna be a sparky too ~ when I grow up!
No, it's not bad at all. I have gone far in this trade. Electrical Engineering and being a sparky are two different worlds. You draw/plan it and we will make it work. Marty is right the $ is on the commercial side. The unions are now seeing they can now start to make some $ on the resi. side as everything is starting to shift. More codes more work.
You are probably right. What is really funny is the amount of business that Keller and Ferg do on the backside. We buy and sell stuff with Keller all the time to satasify customers.
