Ahhh Ok, saw after I posted that your're in Kent, not on the O Peninsula, and I-5 is a straight shot for you.
Your new biz sounds good -- powder coating is great looks and protection. For vintage parts, we've a longtime motorcycle crowd here on Whidbey, mostly drive HD's -- they're friendly-types that might have many old parts in their garage and under the kitchen table. There's not a lot of general money on the island so they could prolly be had cheap.
FREE is most likely not likely
Have a good trip to B'ham, and I'll take ya' up on that beer if I come across something. Any make/model in particular or just wide open vintage-anything? (vintage = older than 25years?)
Yes free is out there, but most want to much $$$ for something that has set for 5-10+ years...Any make or model works for me. I do like Yamaha. I am trying to keep the older bikes running and out of the dump. Age? I'll work with anything up to say 1989.
I have a Yamaha Triple 1979 XS 750F that I got for Sasha, as a project. She wants to learn all about bikes. It will be a frame up......I also have a 850 Triple I think is an 83, with a bad frame. My use the engine in Sasha's bike, not sure about the engine she has in here.
So that's why I got the trailer. We used the truck on getting two bikes. But that 4X4 is somewhat high, and I am getting a little short in the poop.
Ferry???? I sure don't have them deep pockets you got. I keep forgetting you are a Land Barron. No, We'll be doing the I-5 thing North.
Naw, not home improvement, I could use some help on that myself.
I am setting up a two part business. #1 Precision Powder Coating,. #2 will be on e-bay (maybe my own web site, as well) selling used Vintage Motorcycle Parts. Some that I have powder coated....
So any FREE old Vintage Motorcycles you can find for me, is worth a 6 pack, hell maybe a 1/2 rack.
Ferries are darn cheap, when you consider the price of gas!...At least comming from Sequim.
You know, I don't know if I told you but I lived in Vegas for a year. Off of Flamingo Ave. I used to go into the Casinos where you bet on horse racing. I don't know anything about horse racing but I do know that if you sit there and circle numbers on the card like your betting they bring you free drinks all night!

And then you take a motorcycle for a spin!
