I am sure with the Hawkeye add on it would be possible to do tire pressure, but I think it would be more trouble than it is worth. You would have to add a tire pressure sensor in the wheel and figure out how to get the signal into the cab. I'm not sure how the vehicles that have them work. It is a wireless signal sent from the wheel sensor or is there some sort of contact between the wheel and axle that gets the signal?
Pretty much what I have been told is the Hawkeye will be able to accept any 0-5V signal and monitor it. I believe they are looking into accepting either 4 or 8 inputs.
As far as package pricing for the Dashhawk/Hawkeye and EGT probe goes I have not heard anything yet. They probably won't really come out with that info until they have a more concrete timeline for it's release. My contact has been telling people to go ahead and get the dashhawk now, and then pick up the Hawkeye later, so I doubt there will be much of a difference in cost if you buy them seperately or together. As I mentioned before, send me a PM and I can give you a link to the place I bought mine and you can probably get the Dashhawk for $250. 07Dually was still able to get the deal a couple weeks ago.
Yes, they would have to add it to the software and figure out what voltage corresponds with what pressure, but I don't think they would have a problem with that. I am sure there will probably be a large number of people wanting an add on boost gauge for vehicles that don't come with one, so they will probably be wokring on an air pressure guage as it is. They would just have to come out with one that offers higher pressures. I am sure if you asked about it on the MSD forums the engineer there would say it shouldn't be a problem. He'd actually probably think it is a really cool idea too.
So I took the plunge and picked one up! Should be here soon as it's already shipped! Also got added to the beta testers. I will ask on the MSD forums about adding the air pressure. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
