I have a Scan Gauge II that's decent easy to install and small. It had the same problem of not reading all the parameters and I was told when I ordered it that the trans temp. would soon be available and I would be getting an e-mail as to such; whereupon I would send it back to the factory to be adjusted. My complaint is that sometimes it randomly changes display, freezes, or displays a blank blue screen which I remedy by unplugging and replugging; it seems very frail, but I keep it anyways; not sure if I would reccomend it, but so far it hasn't totally quit, but i wouldn't be suprised if it did.
Beerstalker, don't waste your time or money. The second one I recieved was just as bad as the first! Doesn't support anything worth while, freezes up when changing screens, and better yet shuts off while driving by itself. That is 2 units doing the same exact thing! Wish I would of knew better then, but I do now and I am passing it on to all of you! If the unit was $50 I would not touch it! Just a complete waste. MSD got me all excited over nothing! Worst thing about it all, I drilled a half inch hole in my dash above the 4wd selector for the OBD/power cable to pass thru for that flush mount. I'm thinking I will cover that hole with the SCT Livewire. Live and learn I guess. I will be smarter next time. Take care guys!
Wow, thanks for the heads up Ed. It's too bad that it didn't work out for you, hopefully you were able to get your money back.
It really suprises me that it has that many problems. It is pretty much the same thing as the Edge Attitude, are people having the same problems with the Edge?
I can show mine mounted if you want; after I saw the price on the MSD I'm glad I went with the Scan Gauge 2...plus it looks smaller, which may be a problem if you have poor eyesight...anyways if you want I can post of mine mounted.
I'll bet the difference between the DashHalk and the Edge device has to do with where the device interfaces with the truck. I am not a Ford Engineer, but I am a computer Engineer. The DashHalk uses the port inside the truck. I'll but there is a buffer there that does a random dump based on some timing. While the Edge device interfaces directly in series with the computer
Well, I did a little reading today and it sounds like a lot of the early problems have started to be figured out with software updates. It also sounds like it should be able to read EGTs early this summer. They have it working on some test units and are just trying to get all the bugs worked out.
Has anyone else had a chance to see one of these in action or pick one up yet?

Save your money, the livewire has the same issues as what has already been mentioned. Get gauges, you'll be much happier. I know I am.
I had the same quandry bought keeping the grab handle then viola! autometer guage works makes a wind shield mount pod that goes above the rearview & is hidden from outside by the superduty etching & it fits perfectly! all the wires ron up the a pillar & into headliner wiyhout cutting or drilling and cannot be seen when installed even from outside. I started with a 3 pod & have since put in a 4 look completley factory.

I realize they were having those issues, but everything I have been reading that is recent has said that the initial ones were found to have bad wiring connecotrs that were causing most of the issues. Also, I have read that the updated software is running much better and has turned on more features. The EGT function is supposed to be coming in an update withing the next couple months. I guess they've already had about 5 different versions of the software because they are constantly adding more features and working the bugs out.
I read all about the issues you had with the livewire. I was pretty dissapointed as I was hoping it was going to work out well for you. I was thinking about getting one until I read about all your issues, and saw Storms pics and realized it was about 4 times bigger than I thought it was.

Between the console for my moonroof switch and dome lights (which is rediculously large for what it holds), the microphone for my bluetooth car kit, and adjusting my mirror to where I like it, I don't have any room above the mirror for guages there.
I really like the look of the dashhawk with the green backlighting and dash mount that goes right next to the a-pillar grab handle, so I'm hoping that MSD will get everything figured out and working.
People with the Scanguage seem to be having decent luck, so it can be done, I've just got to wait for MSD to get it figured out

The fact that SCT would not only not offer me a solution but would not offer LIPD a soultion as well was not the answer I wanted. LIPD sent all of their livewires back due to lack of dealer support. As of today they still do not have custom tunes available via email, the drivers are still wrong for windows XP. The first version of the firmware was tremendiously better than the subsequent changes. (for the 6.0 at least) I couldn't read my screen. The units were half english, half metric, half something else. No one had a good mount available. The thermocouple and trans temp had to be wired by cutting a firewire cable from a computer store...................should I continue? I wanted a monitor that was a quick install/removal as does everyone else. It just didn't live up to the expectations/hype that SCT spun about it.
