i feel ya Alan on the joy riding. my dad has a 71 plymouth with a 340, he took it to get inspected a while back and the young guy in shop got a devlish grin just knowing he would pull it in (and probally cut the fool) well the shop manager seen him and his actions and told the guy to pull in some ones grocery getter from the lot and asked my dad to just pull it in the stall.
as far as kids go, i love my son. but there are things i like about my project trucks better hehe, they stay where you put them. the dont eat anything while sitting there. most of the time you like they way they talk back to you.. lol just a few things. i still would not trade my son for anything.
It's not that i don't want kids... it's that i dont want kids... yet. i still got alot of stuff i want to do before i settle down.
Anyways, i dont know if any of you read my lastest thread, but i have a seroius vaccume problem, The thread is called"It's A Friggin Curse" and the problem is my vaccum system is suffering from catastophec failure. I'm afraid to start ripping things apart if anyone has any word of wisdom, please help me.
is it that you dont have enough vacum or too much vacum? if its too low you can get an aftermarket vac pump. i have seen these on early model dragsters (late 60s early 70s) where they had such a radical cam that give them near 0 vac. they installed a pump and had enough vacum to run power brakes and all the other normal vacum needs.
on the note of kids, Im 21 and my gf just had our second. By the time hes legal age Ill only be 39...thats 26 years before I retire, I think of it as an early retirement in itself, since I wont be 55 supporting kids, busting my but untill Im 65. Ive got the energy now to work my butt off, but wont have as much when Im older. Im making the best of it now, so I can enjoy it later when its going to really matter. Thats my stance, each to their own, good luck with the truck!
edit: PS, diesels used vacuum pumps to run vacuum operated equipment, if you need one go pull one off a diesel. Probably going to be cheaper.
Yea, but there is still some good words of wisdom here, even if it isn't about the stroker kit... or rangers... or fords. just goes to show that we're good friends. as always thanks for all your help. advice is always accepted here.
i found this picture Tyler had taken of his work, it sits rather nicely in my truck now. i think the big aluminum thing he got from a junk yard, and he made a casting of the rest of the parts. we had to send out he wooden molds to the fountry that poured them. then we soved them in my mill and my lathe ang made them work somehow...
