I watched the game. There was one 3 to 4 minute run there where there were no stopages and it looked like everywhere the Oilers tried to advance the puck there were about three red sweaters in the way.
Seemed like the Canes players didn't get to skate around with the cup quite as far as players have in the past with all the family on the ice and all.
And thanks for the post there Dennis. They kept saying Commodore was out of the U of ND, but I never heard them mention where he had actually grown up. From the way they talked you'd thought he was born on campus. "A little bitty bundle of bright red headed joy."
Next year the team to look out for from Alberta will be Calgary. Where NBC color man John Davidson played as junior goalie, for the Centennials.
He is one of the few TV announcers, besides Ron Mclean from CBC who can PRONOUNCE Calgary. The Idjits from the east all say cal-GAR-ry, in 3 syllables. Calgary is pronounced KAL-gree. 2 syllables.
Thanks everybody for your thoughts throughout the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs! It's nice to see so many people enjoy the game of hockey as much as I do. I look forward to next years 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs and bringing back this thread.
I guess we could turn this thread into the official hockey thread, instead of just the playoffs. That's a good idea instead of waiting till next year to talk about hockey. A lot of ppl are already subscribed to this thread so it should not be hard to get a discusion going over the next couple of months.

Someone mentioned what Kipper would say had he been there to accept and when they commented on his abilities.
They figured his comments back would be: " I see Puck ......I see Puck, If I see Puck, I stop Puck "
Gerber in Ottawa? Never saw that one coming, but I know it's an improvement over Hasek, even tho he is one of my favourite goalies. IMO, the northeast division looks like the hardest one to play in.
