Not sure if I completely agree with Dennis' assesment, too many garbage goals, and 95% of hockey is taking advantage of another team's mistakes,
plus some of the most questionable penalties I have ever seen, on both sides... I think the refs were watching a different game..,
my voice is hoarse from yelling "Shhhhooot shoot! for crying out loud!! You (expletive deleted!!)"
but it was a real nail-biter! Fun to watch. Hope the next one is as entertaining...

It's been argued that garbage goals are an artform in thier own right. And at this level of play, there arent going to be any opportunities unless the other team does make a mistake. The way the 'canes are killing penalties and blocking shots, a miscued powerplay shot from the point could quickly become a hurricanes shorthanded breakaway.
The Oilers are sure making alot of "firsts" in this series.
First team to play 3 different goalies in the finals
First Penalty shot goal in the finals
First penalty shot by a defenseman in the finals
First shorthanded o/t goal in the finals.
I really wish the referees would put away the whistles in the third of a close game and in o/t and let the players decide the outcome.
For the third year in a row (not counting the lockout) we will have a game 7!!! Any team can walk away with the cup on monday night, it should/will be interesting. I am just glad Edmonton put up a fight against the hurricanes. I think putting eric cole in was a mistake, appeared to ruin the chemistry and what happens if he gets hurt again? Ladies and Gents, your 2006 Stanley Cup champion, the Edmonton Oilers...
Man what a game!!! How exciting will game 7 be??! I ain't gonna miss it for the world. Oh, and by the way, the guy waving the Canada flag at the very opening of the pre-game on CBC...... that was me!!!!!
Great series, great season.
I vote that next year they get someone other than Bettman to present the cup.
How about someone respectable like Gretzky, or Jean Beliveau?
GREAT GAME!! I went Canadian(beer and yelling) and it was a blast!! Next year guys...BTW, I heard an announcer say Ward was from Edmonton but the roster says Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Ringo says Sherwood Park Alberta. Anyone know which is correct? Wherever he is from THANKS CANADA!
