I love baseball!!!

It's that time of year again! The time of the year that all you football fans turn away from our national pastime and watch pre-season football. Why do we care about this silliness? I mean, every year, we watch the college players who were lucky, or good, enough to get drafted try their skills against the best players in the world. The time of the year when we wonder which of our favorite players are going to get hurt and have to sit out for the season over this atrocity we call pre-season football. Well, I am here to tell you that I, too, like football. I am just passionate about baseball- at pretty much every level. I get withdrawals after the Series is over, like many of you experience aftre the superbowl. I look forward to spring training with the same voracity that football fans look forward to pre-season. (My passion doesn't extend into the baseball draft, however, that's a completey different animal in the NFL- almost a sport of its own). I feel a certain sadness when I don't get to see anymore baseball for five months- it just leaves me feeling empty.

I know there are a couple of months left in the season, but I hate it when my beloved sport gets lost in the shuffle of the NFL season.

I hear ya, Stu. I'm also a baseball nut and feel kind of bummed once the World Series is over. This season is more interesting for me than most as the Rangers actually have a decent chance of being in the postseason. I'm also a football fan but don't care for preseason NFL or the really stupid preseason college ball rankings. I can't stand all those dorks on ESPN blabbing about this or that player like they're the best thing since sliced bread. The biggest dorks of them all are Trev Alberts(college) followed closely by Merril Hoge, John Clayton and Sean whatshisname(pro football). Does anybody really watch that stuff?

Saulsbury(sp?) is his last name

I somewhat agree, I enjoy baseball, but Football is my passion. Preseason is here and I am excited for what the season holds. Sure, I will continue to watch some baseball games, but mostly when the playoffs are here.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to slam football, just lamenting my inevitable loss...

And I was a little bored at work. Can't play poker there.

The problem with abseball is that there are too many games. I think the season length is just right, but the sheer volume of games makes the season lose it's intensity in late summer (preseason football), then the playoffs get started just as we were getting into regular season football. And there are only 16 football games, so it hurts to miss them. That and who other than staunch Yankees fans cares to see another postseason with the Yankees in it? Variety is important in sports.

Anybody watching the OLYMPIC baseball - been some good games there. I am really surprised at how well the Canadian Men's team is doing. What I like about the Olympic baseball is that it is more about the game and winning then money.

Did the French team give up yet?

I also love baseball. One of my favorite World Series wins was the Diamondbacks vs Yankees a few years back. Man that was a great game.

Baseball is great to play, but it is the most boring thing in the world to watch. I think baseball is the last sport I would ever sit down and watch. I myself find excitment in football, hockey, and basketball because there is ACTION. I'm pretty sure that is the biggest reason baseball gets lost during football season. Just my honest opinion.

Baseball is cool, but this is the usual time for the Phillies to totally disintegrate, and we have high hopes for the average Eagles. The other problem baseball runs into around here is early preseason Flyers hockey. I think the games start airing in early September, and Baseball goes to third place on the menu.
