I've been kinda lurking around but figured I should introduce myself. But I'm a new guy here from Forsyth Mo been messing with 67-72 trucks since I was 15 and spend most of my time looking for old wrecking yards or fields of cars to go crawl around in. Always on the hunt for 67-72 truck or 61-67 econoline stuff.Dont have a lot of rigs like I use to but I got my 72 F100 that's been my daily for 8 years or so that I just got done swapping onto a 79 swb 4x4 frame an my 65 econoline.
Yes welcome and have you seen the guy on Craigslist from Mountain Grove that has a bunch of pre 73 stuff?
Guess it is about time I posted. Been lurking around FTE, finally joined the Missouri Chapter.
From St. louis. Have a 1978 F250 that is into year 3 of restoration and finally passed inspection. Not quite running well enough to be a driver. (I think I need to replace the screws with velcro on my dashboard.) Lots of work done. Rebuilt engine, HEI, distributor, 140A Alternator, Water Pump, Carb, complete rewire from bumper to bumper, new instrument panel, stereo + speakers, dashcam, 38 gallon gas tank, new-master cylinder, power booster rotors, calipers, wheel bearings, and pads. Mostly because I had to, not because I wanted to. Still looks rough. Just means it is going to run forever. Happy to answer questions, if I can.
Here's a couple of pictures. It is rough, but geeting better New dash, steering wheel and instrument panel
Welcome to the Mo chapter, very nice looking job on the interior, the rest will happen when it can. The important this is the mechanicals (start, stop, steer), then the looks. I'd rather drive a crappy looking truck that starts every time.
I'm Andrew and live in Columbia. I inherited my uncles 1977 F-150 last fall. It needs a little love in a few areas, but overall is a good, low mile (considering its 43 years old) truck. I still remember being 11 years old and helping my dad and uncle put the 460 in it that is still in it today. Right now it's a bone stock, smog era engine but when time and funds allow I plan to "tweek" on it a little. My uncle had forgotten more about old cars than I could ever dream of knowing and since I have lost that wealth of knowledge, I will be poking around the forums here as I make my way thru fixing this truck up. Here it is the morning it came to it's new home.
DruMor welcome to FTE and hello fellow Missourian. If you get a chance feel free to stop by the FTE Missouri state chapter and get signed up. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum104/
Here is a link to our monthly chat and BS thread. April is up and running, come on by.
I'm Jonathan, Kearney, MO. Had multiple ford trucks and powerstrokes in the last few years. Spent almost two years without a truck after selling my 2015 6.7 and the 2006 6.0. Finally back in a powerstroke
a 1999 7.3 Supercab F350 ZF6. Hoping to make this one last quite a while.
