As a fellow V10 owner, if you drive it like there's an egg under your foot, they're not as terrible as you may think. Mine's an early 2 valve model before they started improving the engine's performance. If I behave and keep the speed down, I can get 14-15 mpg highway fairly easy even with passengers. Load it down with the RV in the signature and I don't miss too many gas stations.
