bigbluebronco43-nice, honest, LEVEL HEADED post!!!!!!!!
it is funny when someone here says-well your dodge will have squeaks and rattles- i tell them it does not. the next response is, well you will have tranny problems. i tell them, dodge has fixed that problem- i have the same chance of problems as the fords, or chevy's. then, the final response is, well is won't last long- the body will fall apart?? f150-at what mileage will that be??
My 02 Ram just turned 92,000 miles. No tranny slipping or vibrations, or issues throughout its entire life (previous owner&dealership records prove this). Its also towed a gooseneck trailer for 87,000 of those miles before I bought it, and have been driving it back and forth from Maine to Mass, through about 3-4 miles of an unmaintained road. Not one bit of rust, still runs smooth and powerful-no blue smoke on start up or anything. Oh yeah, no squeeks or rattles either that I'd expect at such high mileage with the strain the chassis has been through. I am thoroughly impressed with this "new" Ram. My cousin feels the same way about his 04 Cummins 2500-which he has owned 2 of the previous style 94-01 2500's that he had to put new tranny's in a few times and had issues with-the 04 was his last chance for Dodge and feels the same way about the redesign.
I finally realized that f150 just won't see the light. With this guy it's Ford, or crap, and that is fine, it's his opinion.
As for 73fastback I don't like the way you talk about my operation. It is very successful, and I enjoy it. If I want to drive my sweaty, dirty truck to town, that's my business. But DO NOT tell me it's time for a career change. With the amount of cows and property we own, I find this very offending. I worked from the ground up, with almost nothing, and made everything I have, and for you to tell me, sir, that is absurd. To top things off, you "don't own a truck yourself", so what are you doing on a megacab post? You ever had one??? You ever had a cummins??? I myself love the cummins and know from personal experience just how tough and rugged it is.
If you guys think the 94-01 tranny's had probs, look at the Getrag 89-90 . For the other cummins men, 4 words

I see my favorite guy Musclecar fan is back havent seen you in a while. You see someday that Ford is definitly the better truck. I have my own proof an thats all that counts. The Cummins is alright but the truck its in is another story. BTW where have you been since a month ago.
Where is this proof?? Sorry man, I've read MANY of your posts and most of them are just biased...never any facts. Just "Ford Is best, other is crap".
In my opinion, this is exactly what happens when brand bashing is allowed. People start getting personal.
There are people that are allowed to break the rules as long as they are bashing something besides ford. Rules are rules and they need to be enforced and enforced fairly.
Sorry I like to have a descent truck. Which Dodge isnt now or has been in the past.
I personally feel the dodge powerwagon was one of the best lookin, most decent, trucks of all time. Very utilitarian without any shame in looking that way. I have yet to see a ford chevy that I think looked that good.
I am also particularly fond of late 70s fords. Perhaps its because its what I was in when I was a little kid. I have 390 out back built to the bone looking for a good donor truck. Im estimating over 400 crank hp.

You care to send me an email on this......explain!
