reputation points
how many of you leave reputation points for other users? how many of you check your cp to find out your reputation score? i try to leave reputation for the people who deserve it. i leave a lot of positive reputation points for people but very few leave it for me. how many of you give positive reputation points to the people who give it to you, i know i give back the favor. what about you.

I give them out when there is a post I like. When someone gives me points I don't necessarily give them back just because they gave them to me. But, I do keep an extra eye on their posts and if there is something I like I will give them points.
I usually get one person a month or so giving me points. Once I got 5 different people giving me points on ONE POST!!

The longer you have been here and the more points you have the more the points are worth that you give out. So a newbie's points might only be worth one (maybe) and someone, like Dennis, else's points would be worth more when given out.

I've been a member for 3 years. I wasn't aware that the reputation system even existed until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. By the way Dennis, thanks for letting me know. In that time, I have used it...but only if a user deserves the points. If we all just hand the points out for no reason...they won't realy mean any thing.
As far as negative comments.....I've worked on these old Fords a long time, and I see folks post some realy bad responses to questions. I don't like to be negative, so I don't hand out negative reputation at all. How ever, I will try to give the person that asked the question a better answer.
Also...if you look up there at the poll results it says that 28% of the users were like I was before Dennis enlightened me. They didn't even know what it was.

WOW!! I never really paid attention to them before. And all this time, I've been getting some serious help!! I'll be leaving them now, especially to those 4 or 5 folks who are constantly there answering my questions!!

I have given them out a few times, but I usually just don't think about it till way later, if at all. I've been given a few, but I probably didn't really deserve them. Most of the time, I just don't seem to think about reputaion points. I'll try to get with the program...! -TD
