O, I got it. I worded it badly, lol. The guy you tried to help is seperate from the guy Dennis just got neg points from. Unacceptable from both people.
i think fte should do away with the negative side of the system and just keep the positive side. that way you only leave points if you want to say something nice and would keep people who like to show up and just leave negative points from doing so. so if you didn't like what someone said then you just ignore it but if somebody is very helpful then you leave a nice remark if you want to.
I noticed on the post window, on the right hand side where it shows the persons joined date, the location and then the number of posts..there's a little green square.
I think the admins can modify the settings, but this should be the default for the system here, at least you get an idea of the progression of the ratings.

Thank you for helping me crack the code of correlation between the "rep" points and the # of green squares on everyone's profile!
i think fte should do away with the negative side of the system and just keep the positive side
At the moment, the system will automatically nullify all the negative points on anyone's profile, and at worst, assign a neutral rating (0 "rep" points)!

Personally - I think the negative points are better off in the hands of admins, with feedback from Mods. That way spiteful folk can't endulge in rep-trashing for their amusement.

I'm not here to get points...and quite frankly...I don't care if I get any or not. I'm here to be amongst fellow truck lovers, get some help now and then, as well as give help. How ever, I still think it's a rotten deal for someone to give bad points when your busting your tail to help them.
Gas hog....I'm not sure who you were helping...and don't realy care. Who ever it was needs to realize that in our usual forrum the trucks are right around 30 years old....NO manufacturer stocks parts for anything older than about 10 years. He is going to have to learn to use after market suppliers like our site sponsors, and wrecking yards....or he just needs to go buy a brand new truck. He's also going to have to learn the meaning of parts inter change.
Your another user like Mil1ion....I've never seen you be any thing more than helpful and courteous....the only difference between you and Dennis is you have a little bit more of a sense of humor. The dole box, air cleaner, and cam still crack me up. There was no call for the negative post.
I've spent hours looking through my Ford literature or doing other research to try to help fellow users. I guess my days are numbered until I get bad feed back too.
Dennis....Don't let one bad apple spoil the barrel...ignore that guy. We all know better than what he said.
Doc
very good post doc, thats a post that needs some positive points. i tried but it said i need to spread some reputation around before giving it to you again. the guy at kfc had no clue what is was talking about i said "you got anymore of them custom air cleaners" he said "you want some hand cleaners?" so i just left it at that and now i have a ton of wet ones hand cleaners.
nope , not much you will find the answers to the kfc air cleaner in one of my posts from the other night. someone posted new pictures of his truck and it has a air cleaner made out of a upside down family meal deal bucket.

Hey moderators....Take another look at this post and give it some serious thought. You guys should know trucks in order to be moderators...I think this is a great idea.
Greywolf, good thinking!
Gashog, I apreciate that you wanted to take the time for the good feed back. I understand what you mean about it not letting you post a positive feed back. There are a handful of users here that have left some realy good posts, and after leaving them good feed back on one, it won't let me leave them good feed back on another. You fell in to that catagory a couple of days ago.
Doc
and the dole box is a whole other story its too long to list. i will tell you it had to do with a shipment of parts.look through my old posts, i think it had to do with "looking for body parts" or something like it.
