You have to key on what Mil1on said about "Seven Posts". That's the only way I spotted it. Nothing at all negative was said in the thread itself, but when someone sends a person negative rep points it shows in up in that persons usercp, so they can read exactly what was done to them. I think this is something to be aware of whenever tempted to slam on someones rep points.
They will know precisely who did it (by user name), when it happened, what thread and post was involved, and also read the comments written if any.
So, despite nothing bad having been slung around in the thread itself, the guy lashed back at Dennis in another way - possibly not realising that it would be immediately obvious to Dennis exactly what the guy did.
Make no mistake! When people click the "ADD TO" button, it ain't invisible or secret.

I know how it all works Grey, it just doesnt make any sense in the first place. And the fact that Dennis can forgive, and even commend that guy, really earns my respect for him.
When I think back on all the deserving people I have met at FTE, and people who just don't quit, don't give up, and always seem to be unbiased - that's Dennis. He might just be the most naturally helpful human being I have ever met in my life.
I'd say don't tell him I said so - but I know better. Mil1on is everywhere at FTE, all the time!
(Its kinda spooky really - I have a feeling he's read my post already, and I'm still editing it... )
Footnote: When I write online, I try very hard to remember that there is (are) real live human beings reading what I slap up on the web, and interpreting it exactly the way I would.
I think twice as hard when sending a comment on a rep nudge, because I want it to be understood. I have only once ever sent a mediocre rep nudge, and wish to this day I had waited and thought it over for a bit longer. The guy was a good guy, but we disagreed on a few points. I owe that guy - because he taught me something.
At the time (with the version of the FTE board that was in place) we all thought it was permanent and could never be changed or amended.

I know for a fact I got unfairly slammed at one point by people that post out of control all of the time. We should discuss it, but offline.
I never really cared about rep all that much, because I know very well who I really am and have a pretty good idea of how I'm thought of here regardless of artificial ego-boost apparatus. This is becoming an intriguing concept though, and I wonder how it might come out if it was really done fairly.
A truly creative individual who knew how to 'network' could pump their stats up clear out of sight. But the danger is the flip-side - what I think of as "Trashing".
But then, "trashers" should be reportable, wouldn't they be?

I agree with Greywolf. Take for example what happened to mil1ion. If the moderators had to screen then he wouldn't have recieved the neg rep for no reason. On the flip side why do we really need the rep system? I'm fine without it really. I give when I think people really deserve it. Which isn't that often. Maybe a poll to see how many would want to keep it, who wants to get rid of it and who really doesn't care one way or the other about the reputation system? I don't look at a persons rep when I decide to take their advice. I look to see if their suggestion makes sense in solving the problem at hand
