A couple other things to keep in mind, if you try to give rep to the same person too soon, you will get the message about 'having to spread reputation around'. You can only give it to one person, then you have to give it to several others before you can give it to the original person again. Also, you give more rep points if you leave comments with the rep. If you leave it blank, they don't get as much.
Because of this thread, I took the time to check out my rep points for the first time. I was surprised to find one listing that started, "You are an ***" and then went on to speak of my intellectual deficiences. I feel no need to respond, but I will be checking more often.

Really? Ive never seen that, and I dont understand why someone would go out of their own way to call you down, instead of just ignoring what you said, or debating with you. Its the internet, everybodies tough I guess
Thats a bad deal. I think for the most part, there is a good group of people here. I feel the same as most others. If a guy does good, I'll say something....If he's a moron....I ignore the post and move on. There's no need to say anything ugly. My grand ma always told me "If you can't say any thing nice....Don't say anything at all" That's pretty much the way I conduct business on here.
On a side note....It seems like we have people come here almost on a daily basis that are new to Ford trucks. It kind of gets me up set when the new person asks a question and some one gives a complete wrong answer. To someone who doesn't know any better, that could cause them to make mistakes on their vehicle. If a person doesn't know the answer, they should either hush, or come right out and say they don't know. I would rather see a person not get answered at all as to get a wrong answer.

A person with 7 posts obviously has no clue what kind of an asset you are to this site. As bad as this sounds...consider that with being a new guy he is ignorant to what a helpful and courteous source of information you have been.
In the mean time....we need to get a petition together to get Mr Ken to give him a boot....reguardless of how ignorant a source may be..there was no call for that.

That's the type of person who just gets their kicks by being negative and trying to start crap. Some people just need to grow up, and probably never will. And there ain't thing one anybody can do about it except themselves. Dude needs to get himself a clue! (And a life!) -TD
i had the same issue a while back i spent hours trying to help this guy i looked up part numbers for him and everything .because i gave the part number as a ford part number which starts with D3ta. he could not find it at the parts store and he sent me a mean email and bad rep points and after all i had done too.
Dennis I do not understand why anyone would give you negative points. You are probably about the most helpful person here. I have only recieved rep once myself of any kind and it still shows me at ten but that is cool. I will still be helpful when I can. I will also continue to give credit where credit is due. I do give out rep points. I think maybe it would be a good idea for fte to send an email to new users explaining a little bit about the rep system. New users usually need and recieve the most help. They need to know how to give people credit for it. imho
See, that kind of behaviour dissapoints me. I just dont understand it. You do nothing wrong, both ford390 and Mil1ion get neg points for absolutely nothing! The fact you took you own personal time, to help this guy, and all he does is get mad and send hatemail, makes me very angry. The nerve of that guy....
not to confuse you but when i said "this guy" i did that so not to use his real name. but it was a different person than the one dennis was helping out. i just don't want anymore emails from him so i didn't use his name. but i agree i went out of my way to help him try to get a part that was odd and hard to find and because of that the part has not been made since the 80's and yet he acts like its my fault.
