Fordfan302 and Hatemakings/n, open your User CP and scroll down past the bottom of your subscribed threads list. There should be a box there listing your reputation points recieved. If you have recieved none, than you should have the basic 10 points that everyone starts with.
You can also click on the little scales at the upper right of any one of your own posts, and a small window should open telling you your reputation on this post, (if there has been no reputation given you on that particular post, it will say your rep. is even on that post) and it will als give you your total rep. points. -TD
Well, that depends on whether or not you have your subscribed threads list opened up. Mine is open and I have 9 subscribed threads showing, so I have to scroll down to get to the rep. points received list. If I minimize my subscribed threads, then it brings the rep. points right up to the top. -TD
Go to UserCP. Then at the bottom on the right side it says Latest Reputation Received. On the far right is an arrow...click that and it will "expand" and give you more details.
how many of you leave reputation points for other users? how many of you check your cp to find out your reputation score? i try to leave reputation for the people who deserve it. i leave a lot of positive reputation points for people but very few leave it for me. how many of you give positive reputation points to the people who give it to you, i know i give back the favor. what about you.
Ford390gh,
First of all I want to acknowledge publically, the "rep" points you left for me on my recent thread, while I was still trying to demystify the nature of these points through a lot of earlier threads. Thanks a million for your great remarks!Dennis, thanks for all the previous links on this topic!
Ford390gh, I agree that I didn't give you the points in return right away for quite a while (..and probably that's why this thread), since you had to earn them! However, I reciprocated by giving you a great "rep" on one of your appropriate threads, since you deserved them. And, as you well know, that's how this "peer eval" system has been designed, so that the FTE users don't misuse and manipulate it!
Here is a quick way to rank order everyone's "rep": Click the "Members List" on the blue bar above...make sure you are logged in. Now, just click on the "reputation" heading, and you have every FTE member's "rep" sorted in the descending order. This short cut avoids the advanced search!
While, I know that Ken wants us to know only a part of this mysterious "rep" points puzzle, I would love to have some light shed by the elite team of Ken, Dennis, Eric, Tim, any moderators, or anyone else on the following two questions:
1. All the members have a maximum of 4 green "rep" squares down to a minimum of 1 green square. What is the points value of each square? Is the points assignment linear?
2. Can the actual "rep" points of the members be determined through the members' CP, or some type of sort, without the PM?
To the best of my knowledge, the above two points have not been addressed either in the FAQ or the previous support forums.
Thank you all for the demystification to the highest possible level!!!
I think the admins can modify the settings, but this should be the default for the system here, at least you get an idea of the progression of the ratings.

Sure, I use rep points. I use them not just for good tech posts, but also maybe something that I get a laugh out of, a post that made me smile, some good info/thoughts on a general subject, or seeing someone go out of their way to really lend a helping hand to someone. To limit it to just tech is, IMO, depriving people of being acknowledged in a positive manner when the time/circumstances are right.

Ok, this points thing really has me lost! I don't know how to leave any for anyone or check if I have any. I look in my User CP and I don't see any. Here is a screen shot of what I see, am I missing something? And how do I leave points? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...key/screen.jpg
Edit: Ok, I found out to add to someones rep by clicking the thing, and it tells me how many I have also.
460: in your user CP, when you first open it by clicking on 'User CP' at the upper left of the screen, top of any forum page, it should default to the page showing your Rep. points. Looking at your screenshot, if you look in the upper left corner you will see
'Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums>User Control Panel' (which will be in blue)
Subscriptions (In black)
Click on the blue 'User Control Panel' in this area and it should take you to the main page of your User CP, and your rep points should be right in front of you. -TD
You're such a nice guy, Matt! Everyone still starts with 10 points, doesn't that show up anywhere? (Other than the little window that pops up if you click on the Rep. scales on one of your own posts) -TD
No, because the first 10 points were given from the "system". The only reputations received you see are from users on here that give them to you. Also, you will see their comments as well (if applicable).
Aha, now I understand! (I may be slow, but I get there eventually...just hit me over the head with a big enough hammer, often enough and it finally gets through!) -TD
