I don't own a 6.0, but I do own a diesel. There are plenty of topics in this forum that are general diesel discussions and debates and I enjoy the comradery of a lot of the members who post in this forum. I also enjoy discussing diesel engines and the issues that come up with them in general. There is no requirement that you own a 6.0 to participate in any thread that you wish. If you search my post history in this forum, you'll see that I have contributed plenty of information that I would like to think has been helpful to 6.0 owners and other diesel owners. BTW, there shouldn't be any arguments to begin with.
jeb, you are a big man for taking the high road. I hope others will follow your example.
u are an assett here. and ur input is helpful. they were more talking about a few that "drop in" only when a few specific subjects come up, and light the thread on fire.
u have good opinions and actually take part in debate and hibauchery
its the ramdom people( and im not being specific to any recent individuals) that stir things up and leave that need to be in check
Man...I go Houston for a couple of days and miss all the fun. A couple of points IMO:
#1. I could care less about which oil so & so uses or who makes it and are they bad people. If a monkey made the right oil for me then that is what I would use. I used FTE and the oil info to try to make an educated decision for MYSELF. Personal attacks have no bearing on my oil use decision. Those who present attacks against people I respect do have a bearing on credibility, or lack there of. In fact in most cases, with the possible exception of Jeb, most of the flamers never have anything positive to offer anywhere else. No credibilty / integrity established. None given.
#2. I believe that oil discussion does belong in the 6.0 forum. I have no interest if a 5.4 or V-10 owner thinks that Mobil Truck & SUV is good or not as they have no credible opinion in this regard. I am interested in what 6.0 owners have to say as it is only through their experience that I will learn and therefore have a basis for good decision making. If it goes into a 6.0 then it belongs in the 6.0 forum. Again, IMO.
#3. I am disappointed that the calvary did have to come to the rescue. Unfortunately things did get out of control on a couple of threads while Tim was gone. I was involved in one of them. I sat back and read the trash talk as long as I could. But when it was time to dance...I danced. No apologies for that. It was just time to get involved.
We shouldn't have wait for Big Daddy to come around and threaten a spanking if we don't behave. We are big boys with really big toys and could all behave better. Thanks to our young NC buddy (PSD) for helping out in that regard. With that said however,...I will continue to get involved when asked or I deem it necessary. Just the way I am.
Thanks to almost everyone for their input on oil, programmers, filters, EGR issues, etc...and thanks to the moderators for letting us vent from time to time.
Watch out for the bad guys! I have a friend who went fishing there inland somewhere and had to get his brother with the CIA to rescue him. It seems like the local Police are very suspicious of americans.
The only thing I hate about leaving the country is that all the firearms have to stay in the gun safe. I'd rather walk around naked than be unarmed. I think the scardest I've ever been was in Madrid Spain when the Basques set off a car bomb right outside our hotel. Killed 3 police officers and blew all the glass out of 4 buildings. The only thing that kept us from being hurt was that we had opened the french doors (third floor) and the glass didn't blow thru the room.

Be very careful! This is exactly why I don't travel outside the USA. At least here I have a fighting chance thanks to all the USMC training I got many years ago. My wife thinks I'm just waiting for someone to "Make my day"
I just prefer to not be the victim.
Semper Fi. I knew how to shoot before I join the Corps, but the training there sure didn't hurt any. I just hire a retire gunny to be my drug court co-ordinator. He had run a drug program for the Corps in Arizona. When I looked at his application, saw his retired USMC status and that he didn't have a college degree, I KNEW he had to be a gunny and told our HR dude to hire him. Nothing like a gunny to whip guys into shape.

Never knew a Gunny to have much patience unless he was waiting for a target to get clear!
I learned to shoot when I was a kid, learned tactics in the Corps.
I know that Amsoil posts their results from the four ball wear test. SWEET!! results by the way! But why is it no one else does? Does anyone know where these results can be found for oils like Royal Purple, Delvac 1, or any other diesel oil?
