Tim, in the database world, null means "no value". If you designate a field as "not null", that field must have a value. Even 0 is a value. So I think he was saying, no value, no value, no value.

I am picking my new F-350 2004 Tomorrow and this is my first diesel ever. what is the best oil to use in this 6.0 PSD. I looked at AMSOIL and it looks like a great oil for a diesel engine. has anyone used these oils that claim no oil change needed until 60k.
For gasoline engine's Amsoil claims one of their 30wts will go 25k miles . With that said google search for 3MP Oil Study and you will find that while Mobil 30wt went 18k miles the Amsoil is sputtering at 9k in a gasser . Now this is unbiased testing in the same engine using the same Laboratory .
While underwarranty I could only recommend using an engine oil OK'd by Ford period . It just makes sense that fighting if potential warranty troubles arise is time , time is money . But you could write Ford asking for express permission to use an oil that has not been submitted to the API and see what they say
No, it doesn't mean anything. I couldn't delete the post and I couldn't blank it out as the software requires at least 10 characters to be typed in on an edited post. "null" was just the first thing to come to mind as I use it a lot in software development to mean "nothing".
My post was not "over the edge". I just decided to let it stand as is rather than debate it further.
Jeb got paid off by Ford (DSB) for his 6.0 PSD so now he has no reason to be on a Enthusiast's Forum. The only reason he shows us here is habits die hard and he has no where else to go. I really think this is why he has delayed as long as he could resolution of the problems with his truck because a large portion of his life was would up in thinking of new ways to express his dissatifaction with FORD. I pray every day that he will buy a Dodge or a Duramax so he will be so busy complaining on their forums he won't have time to harass us.
All these people who don't own 6.0s but are just here to give us a hard time or express negative opinions about our trucks annoy me. Examine the posts on this thread. Most of the trouble makers don't even own a 6.0.

That is very true. Non-6.0 Owners should come here to view or ask helpful, non-debated issues, and NONE should come here to participate in an argument. It bothers me that some people are so disturbed as to have to come here and harass just to fulfil thier lives. It actually seems quite sad
I'm not naming anyone in particular, as even Jeb did ONCE own a 6.0. However, there is no use for anyone, be it a current owner, previous owner, or non-owners to come here and try to disrupt the forum of the subject they do not like. It is inappropriate and very rude.

When I bought my truck the dealership included one free oil change with the purchase. And they gave me a maintenance book from their service department after 10 oil changes the 11 one is free and if you have everything done at the dealership when you bring your truck in for trade present the booklet to the final price of your sale and the service department will give you 450 dollars off your new truck. I was told by the service to only present it after you came to a dollar agreement on your new truck and the service will eat the 450.00 to gain your continued business. With me trading trucks in every 4 years that's not a bad deal. Oil change with filters cost 80 dollars at the dealership. And if something goes wrong with the truck they eat not me because they were the last to work on it and maintain it. again with a 40k truck these are nickel's and dimes over the years.
