So if a wear test such as a four ball test is inconclusive, what tests are good indicators? I was also wonderin' if there is any variances in the way flash point test results can be interpreted. For instance, the flash point on some of the Amsoil diesel oil is over 400. But just about everything else is about 200 or so. Just seems like a huge difference. I suppose while I am writing this I am just wondering if any of ya'll have ever changed your water seperators to something a little more beefed up from the after market manufacturers? Could doing so risk some of the warranty in your opinion? ty "Cor"
I know that Amsoil posts their results from the four ball wear test. SWEET!! results by the way! But why is it no one else does? Does anyone know where these results can be found for oils like Royal Purple, Delvac 1, or any other diesel oil?
Yes, the results can be found on the label: API Certification.
we'll see how bad scamsoil is.... they are sending me a reading for unused sample also.
i guess i probably sound alot like a mallard to u guys, but i hope u all can find it in ur hearts to accept me beyond my "failings" in my choice of oil.....
bighoss550, I think the thing most people detest is the marketing, not the people who simply use their oil. I don't even think the majority of people think that it's bad oil, it's their marketing tactics that aren't always open and honest to the casual reader. Anyway, I think we can keep you as a pet duck!

I'm sure the Amsoil bashing will end when they stop using the current marketing tactics. I won't ever bash Amsoil, but I will clarify the fine print so people can make their own decision.
I don't think you'll find Amsoil oil bashing.... just many people who loath how their dealers act with the same exact tired old sales pitch on forums all over the Internet, each of them thinking they are being clever enough that people won't spot them.
