It's rated for 35,000 miles/one year between oil changes, but I plan to get a oil test done at the end of that time because I've heard of this oil lasting over 100,000 miles. They make a few excellent diesel oils that are rated to last three times longer than than the engine manufacturer's specifications. Also, if you use AMSOIL filters you only have to change the filter every 12,500 miles/six months. I'd be glad to help you out.
Jim, what Scamsoil fails to tell you, the reason oil is changed is because it gets contaminated, and dirty, due to the combustion process......and this happens to all oils!!!!!
It's a shame they have "brainwashed" you also!!!

just so we are all in the know.....in order to geta certification, the "api"(government) requires over a half million dollars. all that cert does is say its certified.
a stamp does not change the oil. and i would rather not get the cost of the pointless stamp passed on to me.
the oil DOES surpass the requirements. what else really matters??? and who cares anyway??? and why do u care???
i could not care less about whether or not the government gave the nod to my oil. it does exceptionally well, and thats why i shell out the bucks for it.
whoever said amsoil lasts 100,000mi needs to do some readin or talk to somebody who knows, cuz thats not right. amsoil has NOT gotten some of their oils certified, and will not.
this is an arguement that will go on forever because some of us just like the oil, and some of us are too concerned about bureaucratic and political bs.
please lets just give it up. im gonna run my "scamsoil" and i wont change my mind. if anybody else is so inclined, then great, but otherwise.......
and if u wanna get an oil that has a certification(and ford does recommend it) then maybe amsoil isnt for u. but if u dont care about a cert, then it is a good oil, and its not gonna "blow up" ur engine, as many would lead u to believe.

That's the problem with MLM. You can't get a straight answer. If it is so good, why don't I have a bunch of people trying to get contact with me to buy some. I can get Rotella T synthetic for $13.87 a gallon or 3.47 a quart at WalMart and Mobil 1 Truck/SUV for $4.77 a quart also at Walmart. If Amsoil can't beat that then I am not interested.
Also, the reason for being API certified is because that is the spec that Ford calls for in the manual. I didn't write the spec in the manual so don't flame me. So that would eliminate Amsoil all together.

Exactly!!!!!.......and check out this from the warranty section on the Scamsoil website:
"e. In cases where the OEM warranty is still in effect and that warranty coverage is denied based on the use of an AMSOIL lubricant, the customer shall immediately notify AMSOIL INC. and provide a written copy of the OEM warranty denial."
It kind of sounds like they have had this situation before, doesn't it!!!!!!
And when you have a lot of time, and you have your lawyer present, read the "fine print" in the Scamsoil warranty from their website:
http://www.amsoil.com/warranty.htm

It's pretty pricey. The case I bought and used in my 01 dmax (before I was aware of the scam) cost me something in the mid-$60 range for 12 quarts. So about the same as Mobil 1. My dmax didn't like the oil, BTW. I found out while I had it in the motor about the API fakery. Fooled me once, but never again. The case box had big, bold API this and that on it, too.

I think I found it on another thread, like $120 for a 4 gallon case. In my naivete, I didn't even know Amway made Amsoil, but now i get it AM way... AM's oil. I guess I'll stick with the Delo. It still gets great tests from Balckstone, and the red beast still runs well. At least I did get over the stupid urge to have it reflashed.
